We are getting an F3 message on GE JVM1750DM microwave. After turning off power and then back on. It works for a few minutes, but then the F3 message come back ?

Hi

F3 error in your GE microwave means that the keypad/touchpad is bad and should be replaced. However, before replacing it you can follow these step by step instructions to clean the touchpad assembly and see if it works:

1) Unplug microwave
2) Remove two small screws from upper face plate
3) Remove screw on upper side of control panel
4) Life panel and pull out
5) Identify flat tape-like harness connecting circuit card to keypad
6) Wipe down harness with an all-purpose wipe
7) Use hairdryer to dry remaining leftover moisture

8) After this put the keypad back if its not solved then replace it.

Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Error message of "F3" appears

F3 or F4
Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD)

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Microwave turns on by itself for one minute then it prompts F3.

Assuming there's no moisture, grease, or other foreign matter on the control circuit board (especially in the area where the keypad connects) then "F3" means you have a shorting membrane keypad.

This part is no longer available from the manufacturer, but in case you can find one in "new old stock" from a local or online distributor, the part number was 5304430278.

If you find the part, feel free to contact me here or at microwavecontrol.com for detailed replacement instructions.

Good luck.

Spacemaker beeping loud and f3 message driving us crazy

The error code F3 indicates an oven sensor problem. The oven sensor is most likely the failed part. The oven sensor probe must have the correct resistance readings at specific temperatures. When the electronic range control (ERC) cannot identify the correct resistance of the oven sensor or the resistance is way out of specs F3 will display.
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your oven.
