We have a 3Com NBX V3000. The building our office

We have a 3Com NBX V3000. The building our office is located in scheduled a power outage this morning. Last night I signed into our NBX and shut down the software. This morning when I came in I unplugged the NBX and then replugged it in. My phone system didn't come back up. I was able to sign into the NBX but I wasn't able to access anythig. I was only able to see the reboot/shutdown screen with the yellow exclamation icon indicating it was now safe to power off the system. I am now unble to access the NBX. I now get an IE cannot display the webpage. On the NBX itself the download indicator is flashing green and has been for over an hour.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

This was a rather simple fix. When I was speaking about the NBX V3000, I was talking about our 2U NBX Chassis which holds the line card. When our phone system was installed I wasn't shown the 1U NBX V3000 "Brain". I thought everything was contained in the chassis. Long story, short, I restarted the 1U "Brain" and the system came back up with 5 minutes.

We had a power outage last night and I have not been able to successfully restart my 3Com V3000 server. I have powered it down several times, waited several minutes before restarting, but it just shows...

After you power it up LEAVE IT ALONE for at least 45 minutes. When the NBX loses power abruptly it will do a disk scan upon reboot. The disk scan takes anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes (depnding on the size of the database). You can connect to the console and see it doing a disk scan when you boot it back up. It will go through 6 phases and then boot up normally. Each time you pull the plug you risk database corruption (or hard drive failure on an older system).

Nbx V3000 will not allow me to change extension number on new phone.

If the extension is already in use on the system you wont be able to assign it to another phone. You can change the conflicting Ext. to something else (not in use) and then use the one you wanted. There are also specific ext. ranges that you have to abide by.

Hi I have a 3Com NBX V3000 and i forgot the password what I can d

You must make sure to use the correct username. The only username that can be used for administrator is administrator (ALL LOWER CASE). It is case sensative and can not be capitalized. You typically have to open a case with 3Com to get the current password. There is no "backdoor" way to gain access or change the password but if you have console access to the system you can enter the nbxDb command and get an encrypted password. If the system is running a software version 4.0 and older then the password is unencrypted and you are done. I can get the encrypted password decrypted if needed.
