Mitsubishi WD-52327 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television Logo
Anonymous Posted on Feb 14, 2010

I have a Mitsubishi WD-52327. The TV turns on and stays on for 30 sec to 3 minutes. Then the TV shuts off, no picture, no audio and status indicator flashes red 3 short times and then one long red flash and then the sequence repeats. I can clear the status by unplugging the TV power. TV turns on again but then I get the same thing. I can clear the status by unplugging the TV power. Once I plug the TV back in, TV turns on again but then I get the same thing, TV turns off flashing red status light 3 times and one long red.

I have replaced the lamp. I have 2 of these
WD-52327 TV's and I swapped the lamps. Lamp is fine. The Owners guide in the Troubleshooting section Page 66 says:

    ******************************************************************************

Problem - Lamp indicator light is a constant red.

Possible Solution - Turn the TV off for at least 2 minutes. Turn back on. If light is still
red, the lamp has failed, replace it. See Appendix F for lamp
    replacement information.

Problem - Status indicator light is a constant/flashing red.

Possible Solution - Service is required. Contact your dealer or a Mitsubishi Authorized
Service Center to arrange for a service evaluation.

    ******************************************************************************

    I also read it
could be a possible lamp fan issue. Is there a way to get codes from the
    WD-52327?

Are you suggesting I purchase a new converter board? Is there somewhere I can get a drawing/picture to locate the converter
    board?

  • Anonymous Feb 15, 2010

Correction. I see you said inverter board not converter board.

I found the service manual and was able to get the ERROR CODES. I am getting 3 flashes a pause and then 6 flashes which is error code 36. The code is:

36 Light Engine (DMD or LAMP Fan stopped)

    Suggestion?

Once the status light blinks 3 times, this is an indication that there's a problem with the lamp. The lamp may need a replacement.

If you replace the lamp, but get the same problem, check the inverter board.

If you're not sure where the inverter board is, then you may need to contact a pro for your safety.

Good luck and have a good evening!

It's not a lamp fan issue. Because if it's the fan, the TV would shut off because of over heating, but there will be no blinking light code.

Unfortunately, I could not find the complete blink codes I that could show you.

Mitsubishi WD-73638 no picture and shuts off randomly

I would think that the item to check would be the power supply. You will have to take the TV apart, get the board part number and see if you can find a replacement for it. I would recommend putting a meter to it to verify it is the board that is bad.

Buzzing noise from Mitsubishi DLP WD-52327 after replacing bulb

Did your replace lamp come on the screen or did you lose picture? Just because the LED indicator suggest replace lamp it doesn't mean it needs it. If your pix was dull or loss of brightness then replace it, if not then just reset your lamp timer, check your owners manual for instructions.

WD-52327 Red Light Problem

Try pushing input and menu buttons in together on the front TV panel and hold in for 8 seconds to see if the set blinks a two digit code as it may have bad capacitors if it blinks a 3 4 code.

Mitsubishi WD-52327 Picture flickers and goes blue

In your case I've seen this and it was a electrical issue between the DLP fan and board. The tv could have a problem with the digital tuner and not kicking a code due to low voltage ... it isn't expensive to fix, just hard to diagnose.

Do you smoke? The fans suck in smoke and it gets tar build up on the connections and that causes this in some cases too.
