Our Ice maker is not producing ice. I've tried using a hair dryer to melt possible frozen water. It worked once, but now that ice maker is back to not producing ice.

The heating element is not working to heat the base and free the ice from the tray. At this point it's probably better to just replace the ice maker. They are about 60-70$

The ice maker is not working.

do you mean that it is not producing ice? could be the water inlet valve, a frozen supply line or a bad ice maker. the water inlet valve would need to be tested with an ohm meter. the water supply line could be manually inspected for ice in the supply tube. the ice maker would need to be tested by a technician.

Ice maker not producing ice, already check the basic problems,

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig maybe frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

Ice maker not producing ice. Tried everything in the Troubleshooting section of Users Manual. Replaced water filter. The front water dispenser is working.

the most likely thing would be a bad water valve.try to reset the ice maker and watch to see if the tray fills up the fill tube could also be blocked with frozen water.the last thing is simply a bad ice maker.

I have a whirlpool gold refrigderator model# GS6NBEXRL00 and the ice maker is not producing any water. I replaced the whole ice maker and nothing happened. After unpluging and plugging the fridge back in...

you p robably have a frozen fill tube for the icemaker. coming inot the rear is a tube for dispensing water into the icemaker. check this for ice if it is frozen you can thaw it out by using a blow dryer to melt theice out. on some models this tube comes thru the back wall of the freezer for cross the freezer icemakers there is a black tube that comes out of the ceiling. if you have any questions please post here and I'll get back to ya thanks Peyton

Ice maker stop making ice for kenmore 106.56352500

The ice maker has a problem The ice maker is a separate appliance within the freezer section. Please see the How things Work section of our website to learn about the normal functioning of ice makers. Some common problems with ice makers are:

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice
The ice maker is producing ice poorly
The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.
