Memory card slot issues

I have bought several SD memory cards to transfer pictures from my pc to the card. When I put it in the SD MS/Pro MMC XD slot and try to send pictures from the computer to the card, a message comes up that says write protected, please remove protection or use another disk. Originally I thought it was a problem with the card so I bought another and the same problem occured. I contacted ScanDisk and they told me to try it on another computer. I have tried it on another computer and it worked just fine. I bought the computer farely recently so I cannot imagine there being a problem with it.

Try to take a look on the SD card itself. there should be a notch on the side that say "locked" slide it up/down to unlock.. The term SD means "secure digital" meaning the SD card can be locked as to accidental erasures..

I was given a Homebase DPF710KC and would like to know how to download the pictures from it to either a USB or memory card?

The Pictures are already on a Memory Card that is installed in the Home Base.... The Home Base uses:CF, SD/MMC, MS, xD Card Slots. Which are you currently using? All you have to do is take the Memory Card out and install it into your READING DEVICE (CARD READER) and then to your Computer and then you can transfer the pictures to you hearts content.

It seems that the card reader if the computer is not detecting the card. Make sure that the memory card you use is supported.
The multi-in-one card reader on the Aspire One can read and write to Secure Digital card (SD), Secure Digital High Capacity card (SDHC), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick PRO (MS PRO), and xD-Picture Card (xD). Specific models of the Aspire One are also equipped with an SD Expansion slot that can read and write to Secure Digital (SD) and Secure Digital High Capacity card (SDHC) cards.
The multi-in-one card reader on the Aspire One can read and write to miniSD, microSD, Memory Stick Duo,and Memory Stick PRO Duo cards but require the use an adapter. Acer does not provide or support any memory card adapters.
You can try removing the card reader using the device manager and the reinstall it and check the operation. You may also try using the card is different computer and check. Also try using another card in the computer with the issue and check. If the issue is not resolved please revert back with the model number.

Unable to upload pictures from memory card to computer

Most laptops that have a memory card reader will only read these types of cards, without needing an adaptor: -SD card -MMC card -Sony Memory Stick or Memory Stick Pro cards -XD cards
However, you have a MS Pro Duo card, although it fits into the card reader slot, the card is a lot thinner than what's expected, so the laptop won't be able to read it.
You need to put the Pro Duo card into the stanard size MS Pro caard adaptor. See attached image.
Hope this helps.
