My Hotpoint side by side ice maker is not working. Water will dispense when the bottom is pushed, but if you try to dispense crushed or cubed ice nothing comes out. The ice maker is not even making any ice to be dropped down into the ice bucket.

The icemakers won't make ice if the temperature is not below a certain set point. Varies between manufacturers. Try making the temp colder.

could be that the ice maker arm is getting stuck or may have some frost on it. can you supply the complete model # please?

Very problematic issue with this model .Try unplugging and plugging the fridgerator which resets the board.The board is located on top under a removeable panel where the power cord enters....there is a reset/diagnostic button on the board itself.Contact LGUSA.com for any possible warranty and complain like crazy to avoid spending $300 on this board which can be purchased from andrewselectronics.com who is a factory authorized parts provider.Keeping that ice maker going will make you pull your hair out which is unfortuante for such a stylish and expensive fridge.good luck

I have a GE TFX25ppbaaa refrigerator. The ice maker corkscrew motor would run and provide crushed ice only. The corkscrew motor would not run when the switch was moved to the cubed ice ( half moon) setting.
I replaced the large Light/ water/ crushed ice/cubed ice switch , ( product service number GEH WR55X129 ) ( part number GE 162D6372 PO17 )and it fixed the problem. Cost was about $43.00.

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid

Icemaker does not make ice.
If I have purified water supply, can I by pass the filter and the purifier? Will water flow by gravity and can ice cubes be made that way?

Motor not turning depsencer screw when lever is pressed on front of door.Reset on-off switch on icemaker,removed ice tray and made sure despencer scew turned freely.Is there anyway to test the motor/door lever?
Get cool water out of cold water but big problem is ice maker quit working. Solenoid good so it must be in the freezer mechanism.

Same problem: Ice is not coming through the "ice despenser"...I held the button in (thinking it might be stuck)..but just got a "motor burning" smell. Panic!!!!!
Any ideas what I can do to fix this problem?
I can't get mine to make ice. Sounds like machine is working. Water works.
