My Google Android, the original, has nothing showing up on screen and no sound. There is power as the keyboard lights up. I tried swapping out the battery without any luck.

Sounds like the optical cable is frayed in the phone. I would probably just replace the phone as fixing the cable means replacing the gyroscopes and honeycomb touch screen. It will cost as much to fix as it would be to buy a new one.

Compaq presario cq61 screen went dark but can still see window faintly through the dark sreen.

Look at the LCD screen very closely and check if you can see a faint image on the screen. It's possible that the LCD lid close switch stuck in the "closed" position and the back-light stays off even when you open the LCD screen or turn on the laptop. The switch turns off the back-light when you close the LCD display to save the laptop battery power.

If no luck, try to remove battery and drain the power, then replace battery and turn on.

If that didn't fix it then there are 3 things that could have gone wrong:

1. Video cable connection from inverter to LCD got loose. To check this, follow instructions from step 3 on how to open the LCD and check if cable is fitted properly.

2. The video inverter is faulty
The screen inverter failure is very similar to the back-light lamp failure. In both cases the screen gets very dark and the image on the screen becomes very faint, barely visible under a bright light. If it's still under warranty, take it for a replacement. You can replace this otherwise - you can find the inverter under the screen, follow the procedure described at point 3 to open up the screen.

3. The LCD monitor is faulty
If it works on an external monitor most likely the LCD is faulty and needs replacement. If it's still under warranty, take it for a replacement. If not, you can do it yourself, it's pretty easy. Remove the rubber covers on the side of the screen, unscrew the screws take the plastic cover off, disconnect the video inverter and put in the new LCD after you connect the video inverter to it.

My sons ds lite will not turn on the green light comes on and a white light flickers on bottom screen and thats all, I changed the battery and still no luck. Help! thanks

it's likely that the top screen ribbon cable has either become damaged or loose, the entire top screen will probably need replacing (along with the casing if the hinge is broken).. if you are not confident with technical or fiddley things I wouldnt recommend attempting it yourself.

Phone won't turn on

Try removing your battery and replacing it in the phone.
if you don;t get any results, buy a new battery.
As long as you haven;t dropped the phone or got it wet. Replacing the battery should handle your problem.
you can also try a different charger before you go to the battery.

Good Luck

Toshiba A105 sat. laptop

No, no need for hard drive. Press and hold the FN key and press F4 once, if nothing happens try it again. If screen appears then your in luck. Otherwise the back light needs to be replaced for your LCD screen. Try an external screen and press FN+F4 key and you should have a screen so you can see if there are other problems. Good luck!
