Open up an email, or something else you can type into. Click the menu button, and select "enable multitap." Then go back to the menu and select "enable suretype." That took off the cap lock for me. I just wish I knew how it turned itself on to begin with!

Did you try a battery pull?

interestingly enough, it fixes a lot of problems. go to the home screen, and just pull the battery out. DON'T turn it off, leave it on then pull the battery out. see if that doesnt fix it. if not, come back here so i can help you some more.

I did a battery pull on my Blackberry and it worked. NONE of the other options worked b/c by being stuck on caps lock those buttons do not actually do what they say. The SYM button is now the * (b/c its in caps lock/shift) and the caps lock shift button is now the vibrate and # button.
Its this kind of lack of intuitive hardware design that will make the blackberry lose out to the IPHONE.

Or just hit the two buttons in the bottom left togher the shift and the sym key took care of my problem

I had the same problem...i pressed the caps lock key (to the right of the zero) and the CAPS symbol went away.

How do I highlight words on notepad?

To highlight text permanently, similar to a highlighter on paper, use WordPad instead of Notepad. Find WordPad by searching on the Start menu or Windows 8 Start screen. In WordPad, first select the text you want to highlight, and then open the drop-down menu next to the highlighter icon, located near the font settings. Pick a color to highlight the text. After setting the color, merely click the highlighter icon to highlight selected text with the same color. Word 2007, 2010 and 2013 offer an identical feature, used in the same manner. Word also includes the option to click the highlighter icon first and then select text to highlight

Try removing the password before attempting to sync to your computer.
On the pressing the keys and getting only numbers sounds like the numbers shift is locked.
simply press the alt on the bottom left of your keyboard.
the use of numbers only or sometimes caps only will be indicated on your screen. observe the symbols along the top and the bottom .
type something as if you were going to send a text message to text that the keyboard is set to normal and lower caps.

I have a password lock on my black berry and whenever i try to enter my password in the password space, letters and numbers show up instead of the secrecy stars, and im on my 8/10 attempt and my passwords...

This is directly from RIM: Cause As a security feature, the BlackBerry device is designed to allow a maximum of 10 attempts by the BlackBerry device user to type the correct password. After the tenth attempt, if the correct password has not been typed, all data is erased from the BlackBerry device in order to discourage its theft or misuse. ------------------------------------------------- Resolution If you are certain that the password you are typing into the BlackBerry device is correct, please complete the following steps. 1. Deliberately type in an incorrect password five times on your BlackBerry device. Before the BlackBerry device allows a further attempt, you will be prompted to type the word blackberry in plain text. 2. Instead of asterisks, the text you have been entering for the password will now show in plain text. Check to verify that it is correct. 3. If the password is still being rejected by your BlackBerry device as incorrect, connect the BlackBerry device to a computer that has BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed. A prompt will appear in Desktop Manager to type the password for the BlackBerry device. Type in your password to rule out missed key strokes, incorrect symbols, or a problem with the BlackBerry device. 4. If the password you have given is still rejected, and your BlackBerry device is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that has software version 4.0 or greater, contact your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator and request that your password be reset for you.
