Green grease? stains from my older Speed Queen washer.

Please check that you added the softener to the correct compartment of your washer. Also, please read or re-read the instructions for adding the fabric softener. Once you've done those 2 things, please run a test wash with clothes that you would not particular care about potentially staining. Thank you.

Stains are one of those things that no two problems are every the same cause. Generally, if it an oily stain then you take a look at something like the transmission. If it is a rubber type of stain the the rubber washer sealing the shaft. Or if it is rusty colored then metal metal somewhere in the wash tub that is rusting.

Sorry, wish there was somehow to tell you where exactly to look, but there just isn't.

Since this happened from day 1, your water may be the problem. Do you have well water? If so, get a softener system. This will get rid of the iron, which is responsible for rust stains. I really doubt that a new machine would cause rust or grease.

Why didn't you do something five years ago when you first noticed this? It will be much more difficult to get a resolution from the manufacturer after5 years.

Around the white plastic rim right above the steel tub, link gets caught. I have only been able to remove it with my fingers every week or so and this seems to stop the "spotting/striping" of stains on my cloths. I would also like to know the RIGHT answer to this one. Thanks

the seal in the transmission is bad

Run A Load With No Clothes And Put some Goo Gone In There. May Help.

the grease i'm sure would be coming from the machine. look at the water solenoids, detergent dispenser, dispenser solenoids, everything with rubber hoses.

they do put a clear grease just to insert the hose easier in the plant. and if it was not removed during QC, then it would come out now as you uses it.

Grease will not come from the interior of the washer, as the machine ages build up deposits under the basket and it is oily, greasy and full of mildew. If can get a spanner wrench from a appliance parts house and remove the basket you will see on machines older than three years a build up starting. I pulled 15 lbs from a 25 year old machine and I had to go get sick outside, it was bad.

yeah if the seal has gone even slightly then it will send grease out 1 way to check if the bearings are on there way out is pull the washer out take the back panel off and look in to see if there are any green spots on the back off the washer if there is then there on there way out another way is to place your palm on the front of washer place your fingers into the drum and pull your fingers up if there is movement then there going m8
