I have the classical anynet hdmi problem listed on this model. Even, an upgrade does not solve the problem. A problem of connection between two Samsung products !! The Anynet+ does not seem to be stable with the dvd 1080P9 model. Even sometimes it blocks and I have to unplug the DVD player from the HDMI and the power supply

How would I connect my acer a1 830 to to my tv to watch showbox ... I was told i could use a micro usb to HDMI adapter to do this and cannot figure it out....

No, the A1-830 doesn't support MHL (micro-USB to HDMI). So the micro-USB to HDMI adapter will not work. The tablet's USB port will only support connecting to the charger or a PC's USB port. Here's a list of known MHL devices: http://www.mhlconsortium.org/devices.aspx . The previous model (A1-810) had a micro-HDMI port that could connect to a TV's HDMI port with the appropriate cable. You might be able to use the AllCast app and a Roku or FireTV box. You will need to upgrade to the Premium version for any files longer than 5 minutes.

The other way to mirror content from the Iconia A1-830 would be to transfer it to your computer. Then send the file to the TV via Plex or SmartShare depending on the file and your TV. If you can upgrade the tablet to Android 4.4.2 or higher, then a ChromeCast will let you mirror content directly from the Iconia A1-830. This will require steps that can make the tablet unusable (research rooting an Android device).

I wish that I had better news for you. Unfortunately, even if you have a TV with a USB port, it probably will not access the files on the tablet. (Many only support FAT32 or NTSC file systems.)

How do I connect Samsung smart TV to a Yamaha receiver and get sound to come out of surround sound speakers?

Generally you will connect the Digital audio or optical audio cable from TV to the input of Receiver. Then using the remote control of Receiver you will program the source for digital audio or optical audio as TV. I am assuming the speakers on the receiver are already connected and working. All you do is then turn on TV and turn on Receiver and select TV on Receiver. The TV audio will play through the receiver. Make sure the TV sound is in Mute.

Samsung PN58b530 tv and harmony 550. When setup have all devices set except when the tv turns on it stays on one hdmi setup then jumps to another that was not programmed.

Samsung TV's have Anynet automatic input switching. This severely conflicts with the Harmony Remote as they both do the same jobs; Switch inputs automatically. We would like for you to disable this feature on your Samsung TV using your original remote, so the Harmony Remote will work properly.

Disable Samsung Anynet+

1. Press your Tools Button.
2. Scroll down to Anynet and press your Select Button.
3. Once on the Anynet screen, please press your Left/Right Button(s) to select the Off Setting on the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)
4. Scroll down to the Auto Turn Off and select No.

Once this is completed, please turn off your TV and all device and power them back on using the Harmony Remote.

Best way to connect new system

After trying several ways, we decided the best picture was to run the blue ray (out) directly to the TV (in) with an HDMI and another HDMI from the sat. box(out) to TV(in), then optical audio from TV (out) to receiver (in). This way you don't have to change channels on the reciever when switching from TV to DVD. Remember that HDMI is one cable that supports audio and video. If you are using all Samsung products and want to use one remote, using the Anynet feature, I think it has to be connected with an HDMI. I'm going to try connecting an HDMI too from the reciever to the TV to see if this feature will work. It does with the Blue Ray.
