Will turn on but no dehumidifying so there is no water in the bucket.

well 67%rh is considered low (70%rh is normal) units will produce much less water when tasked to operate in low moisture air , this is why all the new units have air temp ratings of 60Deg or less. but still the unit should try to go thru all the motions ,that you can easy verify , just by u watching /listening closely
set unit to work normally , listen 4 the fans inside to come on and a few moments later the compressor will come on if everything is working well , try adjusting the humidistat up to a value of say 80% listen 4 one fan and compressor to stop , this is all normal reset desired setting on humidistat
if unit fails any one of these simple tests it has an internal fault inside it and requires service

Fan always runs, speed doesnt change (low/high), setting humidity level doesnt impact...is this a control board or circuit board issue?

Verify the humidity reading with another device. Perhaps the humidity sensor is dirty or bad.

Another possibility is the switching device that runs the compressor and fan is shorted. If it's a mechanical relay, the contacts may have welded together, or if it's a solid-state relay, it's got a punch-through or meltdown in a device junction. My guess is it's a mechanical relay since you mention it used to click on and off and now you don't hear that. The relay may be on the control board, or it may be mounted separately - I don't have a photo or diagram of the inside of your model available.

Should the fan shut off when the humidity setting has been reached for model Frigidaire CAD504DWL 50-Pint Two Speed?

Thank you for your post, friend!

I see that your question is if the fan should shut off once it has reached the recommended setting. The fan will run even when the compressor cuts off so that air can pass over the sensor coils to check the humidity. This is a normal operation. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

EC appears and it doesn't draw water

I contacted CE North America customer service regarding this issue for same unit. They suggested disconnecting for 10 minutes, then reconnecting, turning unit on, and changing settings and run fan on HIGH or TURBO until the EC code goes away. This didn't help with my unit. If this doesn't work, there is no repair provided. Customer Service recommended returning unit to purchase location if under warranty (1 year), however a copy of the original purchase receipt is required. Suggest a call to Customer Service Center at 866-915-1212.

My HB 40 is not collecting water as aggressively as when it was new. Now several days running only collects 1/2 inch. Is the unit done?

Dehumidifiers don't really have a lot of moving parts. Basically it cools the metal coils and a fan blows air across it.

They can usually be set to a specific range of humidity levels and the fan speeds can usually be adjusted.

If you are wondering if yours if working you need to look at the coils while its running they should be COLD and you should see water condensing on them.

The colder the coils get the better the unit works. If you suspect they are very cold then your unit may not be working very well.

It cost just as much to run a unit that isn't working as it does one that is working.

Do you have a gauge to measure humidity in the house? You really do need to see what the humidity level is before you get a new unit.

The amount of water from a dehumidifier has a much to do with the humidity level in your home as it does the operation of the unit.

The dryer the air is already..... the less water there is to take out when it passes over the coils

Dear Sir , the dehumidifier is running the motor is running, but not sending out any water. I have cleaned the filter.n Any recommendations?

Is it only the fan motor running that you hear? Or is it the compressor motor and the fan motor in combination?

If it's just the fan motor, it running to circulate the air, in an effort to sense humidity in the air, above the level you have the humidifier set on. Speaking of which, you may have the level set higher than what the humidity is in the house and the unit is just maintaining it. 50 to 60% is high, as opposed to 35%, which is what most folks want to maintain in the hot, humid, summer months.

If you want to test the unit, place in the bathroom, turn a hot shower ON, turn the humidifier ON and set it for 45% or minimum if your unit does not have a LED readout screen. Do Not turn the bathroom exhaust fan ON. As you leave the bathroom, close the door and don't return for 20 minutes. When you do, turn the shower OFF and check the humidifiers water collection bucket. If you see any water, the unit is working as it should. If you don't see any water, it's time to replace that unit. I say that because, at best, the parts and labor to repair the unit would be equal to or almost equal to, the price of a new dehumidifier.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks

New dehumidifier runs very hot...back of unit is extremely hot to the touch, and the space around it becomes uncomfortable to live in. With hot summers like this one (and maybe future ones?) we don't need...

106.57 fan runs does not work

It is dry this time of year. There may not be any water to pull out of the air.

Chris, as you may know, a dehumidifier is nothing more than a 'de-tuned' AC unit in a small package. If you are sure you have excess moisture in the air, (ideal humidity is 50%) and you have tried running a fan to circulate the air where the unit is located, your unit may require professional service.

The unit turns on and sounds like it is running,

Your coil temperature has to be below the dewpoint of the air in the basement to remove the moisture. If you can set the temperature lower or the fan speed lower it will help.

Everything seems to run fine, just hasn't pulled a drop of water

remove the back airfilter, and touch the tubes while the unit is running, if nice and cold, all is well, there just isnt any moisture there. but if compressor is running and tubes are warm , means freon/coolant has leaked out
