Card problems with Minolta S414

I just bought a second handed Minolta S414. The previous owner just reformatted the card externally and gave me the camera without checking the correct functioning of the camera. Being at home it appears that the camera doesn't reckognizes the card. A message 'no card' is given on the display and on the top display "---" is presented. What can I do? Even the format commando in the menu doesn't work, due to the fact the camera thinks there is no card at all.

You can try formatting the card on a computer and then trying another format on the camera. If that doesn't help, try another card.

If multiple cards don't work in the camera, I'd start suspecting the camera.

WHAT 2GB BRAND SHOULD I USE FOR MY MINOLTA DIMAGE S414 CAMERA

Any brand will do, but use only old type 2GB SD cards, no SDHC types.
I would recommend Transcend, Kingston or Sandisk, etc.

Minolta dimage s414 camera, error no card try to use a 4 gb flashcard and then it read unable to use card.

The S414 was designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it will fit into the slot, it will not work. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I am using the Minolta Diamge S414 and when I put the memory card in it says unable to read card. The card is a Sandisk 4GB Extreme. Is this card not compatiable with the camera. Thanks

Try to format the card first. Sometimes, if there is data on the card, the camera will not be able to read it. You should always format memory cards on the camera that they will be used on.

Minolta Dimage S414 camera doesn't like a new 4GB CF card

Check your manual to see if your camera accepts a card that large.

I have a prob where i can't find clear storage thingy when i want to reformat. i bought a second hand o2 xda atom exec so it is flooded with previous owner's messages pictures, contacts and many many more...

You can find the Clear storage in Settings>System>Clear Storage. Just click on the clear storage to bring the phone to the original state.

Make sure to remove the sim card because some times it may delete the contacts info in your sim card.

Replacement flash card connector

I had the same thing happen... broken pins. I purchased a card reader at Wal-Mart.
Take your pics, pop the card out of the camera, pop it into the card reader and plug into your pc to upload.

I have exactly the same problem, I'm guessing that the flash capacitor has died. I'm using the camera for outdoor work only at the moment, when I get desperate I might try taking the top off to see if I can find the capacitor.
