Now this is not quite clear enough to give an accurate single answer.

Is it the fuse within the microwave or the general house supply fuse that blows?

If its the latter then an electrician needs to create a separate fuse line to reduce the overall load on the fuse, 15amps generally. Many houses have too many plugs being used at once on the same circuit TV, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric jug etc all drawing power. Big screen Tv's are the worst offenders.

If it is the fuse within the Mwave, then it needs attention,as a short has developed in the unit and needs to be corrected.

I will assume it is less likely to be this and punt for the first solution ( House fuse box overload)

GE xl1800 I have checked both fuses and still no power to the control panel. What is the next failure?

someone needs to follow the voltage into the unit--- The voltage goes to fuse and then to inverter that drives the unit---fyi if unit is not real expensive a repair may not be practical----use some precautions if not familiar with this kind of appliance.

My ge xl1800 microwave has completly lost power is there an internal fuse of some other reason it did this?

First try the oven in an other outlet in the house, (it could be the house's circuit braker), and yes ther ar some fuses inside but you need to open the unit to reach them, (usually small germain type ceramic fuses) if you have electronic skills you can do this your self but remember to always unplug the power before opening the applyance to prevent all risk of electrical shoks...

Microwave turns on everything works but is not heating up food what can I do, I am a license electrician is there a fuse in side?

Yes if you remove panel you will find a capsule with a ceramic fuse inside so you can check it out.
Many times the fuse blown out from long time use, however if it will blow out you need to check what was the reason for bowing the fuse.

GE Profile Spacemaker XL1800 The microwave runs, the lights come on, timers goes, but it does not heat/cook and it makes a loud buzzing sound. What is wrong with it,and can I repair or trouble shoot it?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If it’s a loud hum/buzz sound then 90% it’s usually a bad magnetron and other times it’s a bad high voltage diode. However, from what you have described it seems to be the magnetron. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Microwave completely died because it was on with nothing inside it. Is there a fuse or reset button? Spacemaker XL1800

you could try unplugging it for about 10 minutes. this may or may not work as you may have caused some damage to the internal parts.

Spacemaker XL1800 runs but doesn't heat.

I think you should check the fuse first that runs the magnatron if the fuse is good that means the magnatron is bad! but if its only the fuse then you save time and money!

My Ge SpaceMaker XL1800 Microwave Oven won't power on any more.

1.Check power outlet for working.
2.If it is than you have broken fuse inside the m/w.
3. To change the fuse you have to disconnect the power to m/w, take the upper grill off, take the screw on top of control panel, lift the control panel up and removed. The 20 Am fuse located behind this panel.
