Dropped Canon PowerShot SD500

On a recent trip, we dropped our Canon PowerShot SD500 on a hard surface - it hasn't worked since. We've replaced it with a newer model, but wonder if it's worth repairing the SD500?

Thanks!

The SD500 is an older unit but it's a really great model. If you try to have it serviced, Canon no longer services that model as they consider it to be out of it's service life. Canon is also extremely expensive for repairs anyway. If you do want to have it looked after, this is the site we recommend for service on the Canon's: www.CamerasAndParts.com They are often about half of what Canon wants to repair the Powershots and the work through them is excellent. They also service the unit and perform the cleanings as well. Your model there is about $79 including return shipping, where through Canon it ends up being about double. If you don't fix your SD500, save them for future if you need them for your new Canon. They just work on the Powershot models! We recommend them for their work quality and pricing as a very sensible alternative to repairs through Canon.

My camera is showing blurred pictures when taking pictures help

Try reseting all menus to default, then try again to test.
Make sure the lens is clean.
Do the menus appear clear?
Has the camera ever been dropped or had any other damage? This could get the lens out of focus, and would need repair.
Does blurring happen when zooming or when taking a picture of any kind?

I dropped my camera and now it won't take a picture if the flash is turned on

Typically yes, it should be repairable, but not by most individuals or even camera shops. It should go to Canon, or their authorized service facility in your area. Camera manufacturers won't sell "parts" (as opposed to accessories) because many people try to install them themselves, damage the part and the camera, then blame the part and want a refund. Send it to Canon, get an estimate, then decide if it's worth the cost.

Focusing wont work after dropping

probably the lens inside is damaged or the mechanism which moves the lens is damaged. Focus works with a moving mechanism which moves the lens back and forth.
