A ticking noise at the top of the engine suggest either sticking/worn valve lifters or wear on camshaft lobes.
An oil change won't cure any mechanical wear, but it certainly won't do any harm either..
You can also try adding an additive to the oil. There are additives for 'quietening valve train noise'. The alternative is to remove the camshaft and lifters for inspection/replacement as necessary.

If you get ck engine light on , you have a cyl. number
that misfires , ck vacuum leaks on intake manifold around that area aspecially intake manifold gasket.
When the engine warms up it should be fine. Check that you are using the proper oil. Also check if there is a winter oil recommended. Sometimes winter oil is a bit lighter weight and can help keep the ticking noise down or gone all together.
