My Canon Pixma MP980 prints horizontal pink lines across the color prints. I have run the "test print" and it's telling me that the print heads do not need cleaning. The ink cartridges are all full. I was printing a lot of images on plain white paper, not photo paper. It started printing these lines after I had been printing for awhile.
Try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.
