You would need to make sure your iPhone settings and your Telstra service is able to do this.
GPRS is the older Telstra network. Next G is Telstras replacement.
I would recommend calling Telstra on 125 111, as all Telstra services are automated, get them to put you through to Technical Support (a person) and enquire how to do it.
Explain that you have searched their website and was unable to resolve the problem (I have done that part for you).
I would suggest if you can, call Telstra from a phone which is different to your iPhone (incase they require you to set up SETTINGS.)
Telstra's settings in your phone can be found
1. Tap Settings on the Home screen.
2. Tap General on the Settings screen.
3. Tap Network on the General screen.
4. Tap Cellular Data Network on the Network screen.
This should tell what Telstra settings are set up for your iPhone. It is also where telstra will ask you to go to.
I use Optus on my iPhone, so mine is slightly different.
I hope this is useful information for you. Please rate. Regards,
I apologize. I misread your phone type. I thought you meant an iPhone not a i9.
However, the Telstra support number will be the 125 111.
The support (help centre) area for Telstra mobiles is :

You may be able to locate an answer here, else post a question to Telstra.
