"Plaid" screen on sony Bravia

What is the probable cause of a "plaid" screen? Set is exactly 2 yrs old. When we turn the set on it has half black screen but clears up in about 10 minutes. Until now. Now it appears to have a "plaid" screen that isn't going away. Sound is good, tho.

How can i fix a plaid screen that is now constantly appearing on my sony kdl-40xbr4

It sounds as though it could be any of three problems. Firstly, it could be a faulty screen - in which case it's a lost cause since replacement screens can cost more than new TVs. It could be your main (video) board which you could replace if you can find a matching one on eBay. Finally it could be your T-con board, which again can be replaced by finding the same part number on eBay. A plaid screen is not a problem I am familiar with per se, but those are the three reasons why one might have a faulty display. Hope that helps.

Dynex 37 hiss and plaid screen

There are some components that have gone bad in the board. It could also be due to moisture inside. Please do not continue to use it and refer it to a qualified service technician.

I have a problem with my Sony Bravia. The screen is cut in half with a fine black line. The top section is the picture that continuely rolls and bottom section is lines of colors. It is 9 months old.

Depending where you got it It's probably still under warranty.I know Bestbuy usually offers 1 year free.My tv had red lines running through it and they said it was something to do with a climate part that they did not have so I was sent to pick out a new Tv.Good luck

TV suddenly stopped working - won't switch on from top - won't respond to remote - no standby light - fuse is fine - set is 3 yrs old

The Power Supply is probably causing the problem if you are not getting any response or LED flash or Stand by

Nothing but plaid on my laptop

This may be a screen problem. In order to narrow it down, plug in an external monitor. If the monitor works correctly, then it's a problem with your screen. Somethings that you can try are: With the external monitor, go in and unistall the monitor drivers, disconnect the external, and restart the laptop. Check the connections no the screen. If it's not the driver or connections, then it will be the screen and will need replacing.

Green Plaid then Vertical Lines, Failure of hard controls, Analog Board?

You are absolutely correct, When anyone complains of vertical lines or bars, the next step is to see if it happens on only digital inputs ( digital board ) , only analog inputs ( analog board ) , or both ( DMD board ) .

Analog board can be purchased at www.partstore.com ,

Green Plaid Screen

I think what you are describing is a form of line paring which is caused by a defective IC in the video circuit those inputs are feeding. Post a email link ad I will send a pic of a screen that has this problem and you can let me know if thats what your experiencing.
