This is an easy fix. First go to the menu then settings, Initial Setup, Master Reset. It will then ask for a security code. The code is 000000 (six zeros). It will ask if you want to reset your phone. Hit yes.

Need to reset password on my phone

1. Turn the Moto Q off

2. Hold down the power button (hang up button) and the center key button (the button between the arrows) at the same time.

3. When the verizon logo appears on the device. Let go of both buttons.

4. A screen will come up saying to do a Master Reset. You will hit the left soft key to say yes to confirm.

Your Moto Q is now been hard reset ( Master Reset )

What you need to do is master reset on the cellphone.
You can do it while the cellphone is off.
Press and hold the center bottom for about 5 seconds and inmediately press and hold as well the pòwer bottom both together until you see Master Reset yes or no.
Remember if your performance a master reset all the data will be delete as contacts calendar etc

if you have a CDMA then you will have to contact your mobile service provider and have them unassigned the number but if it is a gsm phone then just take out the simcard.
