Question about Apple iPod nano

IPOD not sync'ing/adding music

I currently moved my itunes music to an external HD. I did it correctly and all the music is there. I have 2 ipods, a 2nd gen and a 4th gen nano and when I try to sync either of them, I get the "not enough space" message although I already checked off the necessary buttons. I have "fill empty space" checked also so that it should fill up on its own. Not sure why either of them are not working, PLEASE HELP!

Well, I did that on the 3rd gen and it worked, tried it on the 5th gen nano and nothing. I now also have a 8g ipod touch (doesnt have this problem), so not sure whats going on with the 5th gen. I have videos on there now and I'd hate to lose them if I reset it again.

If I un check the fill empty space how would I get all the space filled on the nano? I dont currently have every song check marked in the library.

No problem thanks for the help though. I'm going to try to remove the videos and reset it again.

Hi there, did you try resetting the iPod yet?

try un-checking the fill empty space box, I used that and it doesn't work very well. Then try to reset it and see what happens. If that doesn't work, it might be trying to copy the data to the hard disk.

Hmmn, I'm sorry, but this one is out of my hands right now. Try contacting apple and see what they say.

Hi, maybe you could sync iPod to iTunes with the third-party tool(Leawo iTransfer)

Step 1. Run Leawo iTransfer and connect iPod to computer with USB cable. The software will recognize your iPod automatically.
choose a library

Step 2. Click the name of iPod and choose a library. The contents of this library will display in the right part of the window.
Select the files

Step 3. Select the files you need by holding Ctrl/Shift key, and click the transfer button at the right bottom. Or right-click a selected file and choose Transfer to > iTunes.
click Transfer Now

Step 4. After selecting files, you'll see a pop-up dialog. Check Transfer to List and choose iTunes as a target. Then click Transfer Now to start syncing iPod to iTunes.

BTW, if you are prone to transfer music from old iPod to new iPod, just check out this tutorial:https://www.leawo.org/tutorial/how-to-transfer-music-from-old-ipod-to-new-ipod.html?=1400

I could not sync my new nano all of a sudden. It had worked since I had bought it, but all of a sudden, even though I got the message "synchronized", my nano wasn't! Couldn't find any solution, so I just highlighted my nano playlist and just dragged it to the Nano on the left bar... That worked!

How can I use JVC AVX810 with Iphone? Currently IPOD works fine with the USB cable but IPHONE is not recognised. Maybe there is an adaptor that can solve it?

JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini (1st/2nd gen), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic (80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

I want to give my son my 4th gen ipod nano how to i delete all my music so he can sync it with his iphone?

If he has his own computer, just plug it into his and open up iTunes, you will be asked if you want to sync the ipod with the this computer, say yes, then click "Erase and Sync."
There ya go!
If you share a computer, then plug it onto your computer, select the ipod in the list to the left in iTunes, then select the "Music" tab and choose which music he wants synced to the iPod.
Hope this helps!

Ipod 4th gen showing music on pc but not on ipod

From the apple website:

"If you are experiencing these errors, begin by updating to the latest version of iTunes. When you have the current version of iTunes, try the following:
  • Disconnect and reconnect your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Restart your computer and then attempt to restore your iPod.
  • Disable or Enable Disk Use on your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Try connecting your iPod to a different USB port and then attempt to restore.
  • Remove any third-party USB devices you have connected to your computer (it is not necessary to remove your keyboard or mouse).
  • If you use Windows, re-register .dll files as described in article iTunes displays -50 error message when syncing iPod on Windows XP
  • For Windows users, update or reinstall your Windows USB drivers."

If this doesn't fix it, it might be a logic board issue or hard drive issue.

not likely the new 4 gen Ipod has different pin set within its dock connector system for the video output which has made many 3rd party accessories no longer able to charge the ipod but it will still play music

Did you place the music on your iPod via iTunes, or just drag and drop to the device?

The music must be added through iTunes, or the iPod will just act as an external hard drive--storing your music, but you can't play it.

If you just dragged and dropped, take it off your iPod, start up iTunes, then add the music that way.
