Have been trying to scan but continue to receive this error message - NO SCAN OPTIONS. Read all the comments from others with this problem so I went to HP Solution Center. Rec'd this message when trying to open that program - NO HP DEVICES HAVE BEEN DETECTED. HPS SOL. CTR WILL CLOSE NOW. Can you suggest any remidies?
Problem Solved. I'm not sure what exactly was the answer but here is the steps I followed. First I went to the HP website and followed their procedure to uninstall hidden devices (namely duplicate HP devices). I uninstalled all of the devices. Then (with the USB cable still attached) I deleted the Printer and Scanner from Control Panel. At this point I disconnected the USB cable (the cable worked but the software wouldn't recognize the cable was attached). With the cable unattached, I uninstalled all the HP software with the 'remove software' program in control panel. The I used the original disk for the printer and reinstalled the software. Eventually the installation process prompted me to reinstall the USB cable. It was at this point the software started to recognize the cable again. And here is the best part, after the software finished installing the 'Scan To' button started working correctly!!!!

This worked for me...after trying several other things.
Unistall your driver and download a copy from the website, you may also need a control panel program
Screw all these crazy steps... I've wasted so damn many hours with all this crazy s*** that HP puts user through...I've had it with HP's pontifications over us users!!! I say screw with all these unacceptable interdependencies HP software creates...

Officejet J5780 // Copy works fine. Printer works fine. Pressing 'Scan To' button triggers error message "No Scan Options" on printer display. Also cannot enter the HP solutions center..."No HP devices have been detected. HP Solution Center will close now" Tried uninstalling and reinstalling software from original disk and website. Nothing fixes the problem.
we are hooked up to emachine T5224 but when we try to scan from the computer weh ger a notice that says it hp is not detected.
will not scan as is documented
Same deal here.I installed the software from the HP siter instead of the disc but I can not get the scanner to get past!! "No Computer Connection" what is the deal with this? Also, the Fax will not pick up.It reads an incoming # and will not pick up!!
no scan options
I am unable to scan any documents, and I am a little reluctant to uninstall and reinstall a new driver. The driver had been causing problems with office 2007 and I finally had an IT person fix the problem. Does anyone else know of another option?
I get an error message NO SCAN OPTIONS.
Printer can't find anywhere to scan to
Printer message is "no scan options, refer to device documentation to trouble shoot." Previously the message asked me to reload driver. I did this from the internet.
