Washing machine leaking water under neith - Frigidaire GLTF1240A Front Load Washer

I just bought a new Whirlpool top loading washer with large stainless tub about two weeks ago. After working 6 days per week, I came in last evening and started washing clothes. During the spin cycle I heard a loud sound of rushing water. When I immediately looked at my floor and it was flooded! On kitchen carpet at that! You can imagine the mess and my irritation! The hoses were connected and all water came from underneath the washer. Of course it is the week end and you have to wait with a tub of wet clothes until a repairman can be reached. After reading about the stains on clothes from the stainless tub and the problem with the water, I really wonder if my purchase was a very bad choice.

My washing machine is 4 years old. When the water is going INTO the washer it is dripping on the floor from underneath the machine. The entire bottom of the washer is rusted out. Can this be fixed or do I need a new washing machine. It is a Kenmore Elite from Sears. I do not have an extended warrantly. I have taken no steps to fix this. I wouldn't even know where to begin.

If you own a front loading washing machine and it begins to leak water from underneath, the first thing to learn is where is the water leaking from. On my Frigidare washer (GLTF1240A), there is a lower panel underneath the loading door. There are two philips screws to remove and then the panel can be removed. Use a flashlight as you run a load of clothes. I found the water was coming from the bottom of the round wash tank, where several bolts hold it together.

A LOT of Water ran out from under my washing machine while washing. The tub was still full of water. What could have happened, and where to I begin looking for the problem? My washer is a GE washing machine and I think it is about 4 to 5 years old.

Water leaking on fast spin

hi Eamon.
this is what i found from the internet.
Washing machine leaks on spin Last updated on February 6th, 2017
Sometimes a washing machine leaks on spin, but not before. If this is the case, either it's going into spin with too much water inside, or something may only be leaking under the pressure and tub movement caused by spinning.
If you can see water running out of the soap drawer during spin it's probably gone into spin without pumping the water away properly. If it wasn't pumping water out at all it would not go into spin, but a partial obstruction can reduce the flow enough to allow a spin with the water unable to escape fast enough. This causes water to be forced up into the drawer or out of the steam vent at the back. If you suspect this check the last section of this article - Washer leaks from drawer
If water is coming from underneath when it spins then it's more likely to be caused by something leaking only under pressure. Check the door seal all around inside for slits and small holes, especially higher up, which may only open up and let water out when the washer is bouncing around on spin.
Other possible causes are hoses inside the machine which have small holes which open up during spin or which leak where they connect to the tub under spin conditions. These type of leaks often leave tell-tale rust or dry detergent marks. After that there could be a crack or small hole high up in the plastic outer tub which only gets exposed to water when it's forced around the tub during spin.
You are looking for something that is moving and allowing water out when the tub bounces around under load, or something high letting water out when it gets thrashed around the top half of the machine on spin. If you can't see anything obvious get a washing machine engineer

The water won't release when i push the handle

I need to know what the machine model is.
A power wash machine I had a bit to do with used to block up under neith where the water jeted from. I unbloched the small holes with compressed air. This fault occured because I left the machine with shampoo still in the tank. I then tried flushing the system out with clean water before storing the machine. This seemed to work.
