When we insert game discs in our wii, it will let us play for about 2 minutes, then give us a message that reads, "disc cannot be read, please refer to wii ooperations manual." I ordered the wii...

Check to see if there are any scratches on the disc. Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating "Disc Read Error" or something to that effect. With some scratched discs, the data cannot be read and the game console may not even recognize the discs at all, giving you error messages etc. Best remedy for starters, is to try clean the discs and make sure there are no smudges or dirt marks left on the play-side of the discs. If there are any scratches on the discs, they will need repairing.

Most Game Discs, DVD's and CD's can be fixed quite easily back to "As Good As New Condition". Some home remedies or cheap repair kits may help with some light marks or very light scratches on some discs, but a professional disc repair service is usually required to repair any discs with anything more than very light scratches.

For further help on disc repairs, visit:

www.discREPAIR.ie Get Scratched Discs Repaired Back to "As Good As New Condition".

Check the "More Info" & "FAQ" Sections for further details on game disc repairs and related matters.

If you tried some home remedies and they have not worked, try sending the disc off for repair. Contact the site above for advice on repair and shipping.

Hope this Helps!!!

Disc won't play

As the Wii uses discs that can be scratched, dirty, or otherwise damaged -- it's important to first check the disc.

Look for fingerprints or other smudge marks. If you have dirty marks on the disc, you can wash it off with regular dish soap and water. Not too much soap though. Make sure you dry it off with something very soft [like a microfiber cloth] before you put it back into your Wii.

Second -- scratches will stop a disc from playing... or the disc will play until it gets to the scrached section then give you an error. Check and make sure there are not too many -- or deep scraches.

If a scratched game won't play through but other games play just fine -- chances are the disc is bad. However, if nothing is playing through on your Wii, not even a new game, there is a problem with the Wii's DVD drive. There is a laser in the drive that reads discs -- and many other moving parts in there. The following website sells the Wii DVD drives. It's not too difficult to replace yourself:

Wii "unable to read disc"

If Wii gives Unreadable disc, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide
