Laserjet 2600n prints color but no black or grays

In my home office the Laserjet 2600n worked fine. I moved it to my work office and installed it on a laptop. Now when I print a test page or any page it will print color but prints no black or grays.

I had this exact same problem, for me, it ended up being the formatter board. I you remove the screws from the back of the machine and pull that back metal panel off, you will see two boards. The board on the left is the Formatter (bad one) the one on the right is the DC Controller. There is a small black button on the DC Controller board that you can push down and hold, it will then give you a line test. If that test shows ALL four colors but normal test do ALL but black, replace that formatter. Good luck.

Can't print to HP 2600n over network

The LaserJet 2600N has a built-in print server and can be connected to the local network (normal ethernet cable) directly. While printer sharing via Windows should work, I found it much more convenient to access it without the need of a hosting computer - you do not need to switch on the desktop PC for printing from the Laptop, for example, its also printing faster.

Hp color laserjet 2600 n it will not let me print

There is an override sequence and it works well. Press the select button (checkmark) to indicate Main menu. Press right-arrow (RA) to select System Setup. Press Select , then RA to Print Quality, Hit select. RA to Replace supplies and hit Select. Now, RA to Override Out and Select. Confirm with Select again. Your 2600n will now run even with an empty toner cartridge.

How to make 2600n print in black only when color s are deleted

Go to the "properties" and/or "nose" around for a screen that will give you the option to print in gray and/or black. It's there. Sometimes you have to go to the "advanced" functions.

"Rainbow" word art (Microsoft)

Have you tried prinitng this in MONO on your 2840 printer.
Does Wordart from Word or other office programs cause this?
If it is the office suite, then look at downloading some service packs from Microsoft.
If it's just your 2840 doing it, then look at downloading a different driver.
For some printers there are different types of PCL drivers, like PCL5 or PCL6, these do behave differently per printer, so swapping the driver might not be a bad idea.
Also check if you are using a PS or Postscript driver, but again, try the PCL alternative for your printer.

I would install the different driver under another name, for testing, then if it works just delete the bad one.
