42'' samsung plasma. no picture, sound only. Power supply board?

42'' samsung plasma. no picture, sound only. took the back apart and it seems the power supply board has some melted fuses (little blue and yellow plastic things). could this be the problem? it seems that if the power supply board is the problem, we wouldn't have sound, but we do.
thanks

I don't think those are fuses but if something is melted chances are it won't work

SOURCE: Pioneer PDP 5030 power supply problem

Ok here's how I manage solve the problem... Having the back removed opens the contacts on the interlock switch so I guess if it powers up in this state it senses the high voltages are exposed and for safety shuts down... After this the unit will not power up and the power led flashes red continuously as described before…
After some thought it occurred to me that there may not be a problem at all, just be a simple reset function for this condition… I managed to find an easy solution to this… Just call up the hidden engineer’s service menu – On 3rd generation Pioneer Plasmas it’s as follows > Power down the screen > Hold down the “Input” and “Vol +” buttons on the front > Power the screen up and the Service menu comes up on the screen > You don't need to change anything just simply power off and from then the screen should operate as normal…It did for me so I’m well happy now!!
I hope this information will help someone else one day – Good Luck!!…Rob UK…

Hello,

The Power Supply Board is listed below. Please note, there are 2 models with the same beginning number (PDP4294). Verify your model number before selecting the Power Supply Board as each board is different depending on the model number.

For PDP4294LV use:

42" Toshiba Plasma TV no picture or sound

My experience with 42" plasma tv's with no picture or sound was a missing power supply voltage. On the power supply board check voltages on the plug. The voltages should be marked on the board,

Picture is not coming on samsung spn4235

Remove the Power Supply cable to Y Main board and check the Vs voltage in Power Supply board.
1. Vs voltage is OK, replace the Logic board or Y Main board.
2. Vs voltage is NG, replace the Power Supply board.
