I bought a used hitachi dvd rom gd 7500 that did not come with a software. where can I find a driver?

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down cd dvd rom drives if you see a yellow question mark? right click to update driver
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it

you dont need a driver for DVD-ROM it will automatically appear to your screen.. you just need a NERO if your DVD rom has a quality to burn a cd.. or dvd

There would be nothing wrong with the DVD-ROM, your PC is trying to open a prog that is not compatable. Are there no other clues as to what it may be??

I believe that there are two heads on for CD and one for DVD I think that maybe one of your read/write heads is faulty try and parse the DVD using DVD Shrink if this loads the DVD then your head is working

Generally, you can google the brand & model and find all the drivers and software for download.
