While trying to microwave my son's baby food for 15 seconds the microwave (which has lights, fan etc over the stove top type thing) it stopped. No power what so ever...is there a fuse that could be changed or something? Any suggestions???
Amanda, If yours is newer construction (less than 40 years) the microwave is likely to have it's own circuit breaker in the electrical panel (in the garage or basement?) so no other lights or outlets might have gone out. I have never seen a microwave that had it's own user-replaceable fuse or circuit breaker.
Do you have a ground-fault outlet somewhere near the sink? Sometimes the microwave would be wired in to a ground-fault outlet, even though nothing appears to be plugged in to it. Plug something in to the ground fault outlet to test it. (Ground fault outlets can trip mysteriously, or if it keeps happening you have a real fault somewhere and might need an electrician.) If that's not it, you are going to need to get the microwave powered up from a known live power source, and if that doesn't work, it will have to be taken apart or replaced.
