If your machine is more than a year old expect degradation of the silicone O rings. There are 8 small ones inside the generator. I believe they are metric and silicone. I was unable to obtain metric silicone sizes but found -008 and -010 std sizes locally they aren't exact but worked fine. Cleaned her all up and no leaks at all. BUT be advised that it was over an hour to disassemble and since I knew what I was doing only took about 15 min to reassemble it. I could take it apart again in about 15 minutes easy.

I had this problem too. The instruction manual says to turn the steam knob only half way counter-clockwise after pressing the button for 5 seconds, but you need to turn it ALL the way to have the procedure start (at least, that was the solution with my machine). Good luck!

SOURCE: Hi, Our Delonghi Magnifica coffee maker seems to

You need to contact Delonghi and order a part. This is the steam/water outlet assembly. This part includes an electronic solenoid which controls the water and steam output. I have had this problem 3 times. You may find the steam/ water is very loose when you try to wobble it sideways. This is the indication as to what is the problem, (as mentioned above).

Why won't the steam function work on my brand-new out of the box DeLonghi Magnifica Espresso Machine?

The steam heater is probably not working. Check your manual to see if there is a fuse or reset switch for it. If that doesn't work, return the machine to where you got it for an exchange.

Your question: "I have a Delonghi magnifica 3300 that is 7 yrs old. It doesn't heat the coffee very good and the steam frother doesn't work well either. I have always used filtered water and descale i

If heater not working properly ,but still working the heat transfer poor ,probably need to disassemble and actually manually clean heater unit with wire brush till really clean, otherwise replace heater unit as heaters are usually fully sealed. get on line and search for Delonghi magnifica 3300 (parts diagram , replacement parts, parts). then you will have part no and hopefully someone who can supply parts. As for frother if water not heating to enough to make hot coffee the not heating enough to make steam either so frother does not work,if blocked then need to clean out frother tube.

Delonghi Magnifica 3300 doesn't make coffee, only wet grounds and water in the grounds container, everything else seems normal

Hi JB, not sure if you've junked your 3300 machine by now or had the problem fixed already. Nevertheless, allow me to share with owners of DeLonghi Magnifica Espresso machines who encounter similar problem to yours. Incidentally, mine is a Delonghi Magnifica 3200 which is very much the same as the 3300. Firstly, try to ascertain if the pump is working normally. When the machine is ready to brew coffee, turn ON the steam/hot water knob and see if it pumps normally and for more than 30secs at least. My machine could pump for short durations between 5secs to 20secs max before the water light came on. I checked the flow meter connection but is all seemed well. I noticed signs of water leak (dried up chalky water stains) where the steam wand exits the control panel. Upon opening up the control panel, I noticed a larger patch of dried up water stains on the wand valve assembly. Bought a set of steam wand assembly replacement and to replace the leaking one. It's been some six month now and I'm enjoying my daily cuppa again. Btw, my Delonghi Magnifica 3200 has been serving me well for 10 years! Apart from the steam wand replacement and a faulty micro-switch, I only had to carry out the usual descaling and replacing worn out O-rings.
