Wow, where to start. Just off the top of my head with 50 years experience working on electronics I would check all the final transistors for shorts. This is the weakest part of the unit and where I find all my problems. If the power supply was bad odds are you would not have standby. Check them out and let me know.

SOURCE: My reciver just shutdown then went into standby

What do you mean by standby mode? Do you hear the power relay switch clicking constantly, or does it just click once and turn off? In any case, it could be a faulty power relay. I just sent in my TX-SR806 for warranty repair recently, and it ended up being just that.

This should get you going again , I had a customer with the same problem , apparently Sony has snuck in a PS3 recovery menu with the latest update.

To go into this mode you need at least firmware 2.50 and do the following:

Place your PS3 in STANDBY mode
Hold the power button until you hear 2 beeps.
If it goes into the video reset setting then you messed up, and do it again till you hear a double beep.

Once your in the recovery menu you can check the status of your hard drive & recover / reimage it . Once done , you should be able to shutdown & power back up to a working console .

Pioneer SD-P55A5 shut off during use and wont advance past standby mode

This is a problem related to the hue controlls in the TV. It is quite common.

Fix: You can go into the TV settings and try adjusting the hue/tint there.

If adjusting settings does not work, request help from a technician to fix it for you since it will take adjusting the hue internally and if you do not do it correctly it can damage your television.

I hope this helps ya!

SR5004 amp on standby mode (red light blinking twice a second) / cant get it out of stand by mode

I am having the same issue as well. If you press "clear" "exit" and "surround mode" all at the same time, it will come back on. It seems to be an overheating issue. If you put a fan on it, it helps, but does not fix permanently. Anyone have any ideas for a permanent fix?

My new vivitar 5018 only stays on for about 5 mins before saying low power goodbye even with new batteries. Am I doing anything wrong?

Look through the setup menu for the time to go into shutdown/standby mode.  If this is why the camera shuts down (i.e. 5 mins set) then change it.
In standby mode almost all cameras come back to life with a press on the release button.
BUT - just make sure that you have the correct batteries installed - cheap AA cells often do not have the correct power characteristics to run modern systems. Sometimes you need LiON or a Super-AA to make them work.

Stuck on standby

Unit is in protect mode there are a few problems that can trigger protect mode the most common is blown channel (shorted outputs). Sometimes one of the 15v regulators may go bad causing imbalance of supplys triggering protect mode. Also sometimes a bad solder connection could cause unit to go into protect also. I work for Denon authorzied repair center in Michigan if your nearby and Shipping to Michigan is economical let me know [email protected]

Black Screen / Computer Stays in Standby Mode

Completely remove the battery and unplug the power cord for a few minutes. Reinsert battery and power up. You can also hit F8 when starting and see if you can boot into safe mode.

Re: standby mode???

No really the standby mode dosent mean the sets fried or unrepairable. It just means that the sets in a shutdown mode till a power supply problem is corrected. They have shut down protection when the power supply dosent regulate the b+ and if it didnt shut down it would give off tons of X type radiation. thats just a safty on the set. seek a pro to assist you in repairing the set. Good Luck
