This is most likely a dead magnetron (microwave production) or a dead transformer.
These are the most expensive bits of a microwave, so unless it is of sentimental value, a new unit is actually cheaper than a professional repair.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can probably download it here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven
here.

Your problem is likely a blown fuse, a bad magnetron thermal cutout / thermostat, or a bad oven cavity thermostat.

Accessing some components for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download Whirlpool / Amana owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

MMV4205AAS no light, no fan...then no power

Well part of what you said does sound correct other parts dont make any sense.. Question one is the unit dead now?? have you checked the outlet for power??
have you checked the internal Line fuse to see if it is good??
Does the unit have power to the control board?? these questions need to be answered before we can move on ..As far as the light issue there could be a bad relay on the ctrl board but kets get the unit up and working first

Hello, I have a maytag microwave model #MMV4205AAS As I was reheating something the power died. I checked and there is power to the outlet. Is there something else I should try?

There is a problem inside the microwave oven.
This could be thermal in nature - in which cae the oven will operate again after a cooling period (which might be as long as fifteen minutes), or there could be a problem which caused a protective fuse to rupture.

I do not advise opening these appliances unless one is fully aware of the associated risks.

Check your main breaker fuse in your panel/subpanel.

Otherwise if the inline fuse is good and the main power is good, then look at the power supply for the microwave.
