Cd changer drawer won't open

I can't get the cd changer drawer to open, there are cd's in it. I makes a roaring/buzzing sound like something has burned out. It won't play. The disc numbers rotate, but I don't think the changer is moving.
Something has maybe burned out?

I also can't open the drawer. It has 5 Cd's in it. It makes a whirling sound. I can't turn it off without unplugging it.

The common problem for this would be some of the disc/discs are out of place . just opening the shell
and removing the discs can resolve the problem.

Problem with the cd changer on my RCA Total Power 5 disc changer system

Unfortunately, it sounds like the relay or motor to open the drawer is either stuck or dead, which can cause the entire system not to play the discs even if the drawer is closed. First, try calling RCA Customer Support to see if warranty service/exchange can be made for the unit. Second, try taking it back to where it was purchased. IF all else fails, You can disassemble the unit (this voids the warranty - do at your own risk) and try to identify the motor and drawer mechanism- try removing the main casing to your stereo (unplugged of course) and ensure that the small belts & gears that operate the drawer mechanism are all in good working order by gently operating them by hand. If not, you can replace or try a repair, but it honestly may be cheaper (and better for your sanilty) to buy a new system.

Cd player won't open and won't power off.

This means that something in the mechanism is jammed. It keeps on trying to correct for the misalignment- a service technician will need to see the unit.

HP Z1 WORKSTATION WON'T EJECT CD

Make sure the computer is turned on then Take a Paper Clip (Gem Clip) and straighten it out then kneel in front of the desktop facing the cd drawer. Look closely at the drawer and you will see tiny hole where you will insert the paper clip (Gem Clip) and at the same time Press the Button on the cd drawer while applying pressure by pushing the paper clip (Gem Clip). The drawer will pop open. Don't worry about breaking something, that's why that tiny hole is there.

I have a Phillips model 601/25 CD player and the CD drawer won't open - it makes a whirring noise but refuses to open.\r\n J A Adamson <[email protected]>

The rubber band has stretched with age. Easy fix, take cover off (several screws around the case) and band is easily accessed. Even a cheap elastic band will work as a replacement for now, it only opens the drawer mechanism, no effect on sound quality.

I'm having two problems with this unit , a SONY CDP-CE375 5-CD Changer, which I bought several years ago. The first problem: Occasionally, the CD doesn't seem to be seated properly when I close the platter...

Granted, they don't actually SAY you should carefully place the discs into the detents designed for them on page 7, but that is the expectation.

As for audio hum,

Buzzing is usally AC line noise leaking into an un-shielded cable somewhere or a floating ground. If the AC plug is reversible, try that. Sometimes the buzz is from an attached device. Make sure all audio cables are plugged in tightly at each end and routed away from or at right angles to any power cords and away from other sources of strong magnetic fields like TV's. I've also seen variable track lights induce noise but it's usually minor.

Consider the presence of light dimmers, too. Mine induce buzz when the lights are on.

I have a cdc 675 CD changer, When I close the draw it stays close about 10 seconds, the display reads "open" and it opens back up whether there are discs in it or not

It's reporting that it (correctly or incorrectly) detected that the drawer has not fully "closed", i.e., it thinks that there was a "jam" while the drawer was sliding towards the "closed" position.

This sounds (pun intended) like you need to take the unit to a qualified audio/video technician, to trouble-shoot, and maybe check the "alignment" of the drive-tray.

Need drawer belt for Yamaha CDC-805 CD changer - the one needed that opens and closes the changer's door - not sure where to get it or the part number. I thought I ordered the right one and got the 'drive'...

Any decent repair shop should have a large supply of replacement belts. The Part number isn't necessary. Just take the old one in and get a new one just 2mm smaller than the original. Some repair shops won;t sell them because they don't want you repairing your own property but a decent shop should sell you one.

Onkyo 6 disc cd changer DX-380 has CD stuck under carousel

This has just happened to us. Often when the changer tries to select a CD on random play, it somehow knocks one CD off the carousel, usually on top of the other 5 CDs and then you can retrieve it easily. This time it knocked it down behind the carousel so the drawer could not close. We left the drawer open, carefully took the player out and tipped it upside down and then tipped it forward. We then closed the drawer while it was still upside down and then turned the player back up the right way. The loose CD fell onto the carousel and we could then open it and retrieve the CD. No damage to either CD or changer and we are now listening to music again!

Disc drawer will not open

Try to hear a sound of of a running motor inside the unit. If you can hear it, the there's a broken or misplaced rubber belt. The belt drives the drawer open.
