I have an apple macbook. I received a TRUST headset HS2900 with my language course (so including microphone). I can hear fine through the headset, but the microphone is not working on my apple macbook laptop. Trust is saying I need to "activate my soundcard". How do I do that on a macbook? I thought everything was automatically detected on an apple? Only the internal microphone is working on my macbook it seems.
On the MacBook there is no microphone port, if you look closely, it is not a microphone plug, it is a line in plug. Line in cannot record sounds from a microphone without amplification. What I would recommend doing is purchasing this adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186035&cm_re=usb_audio-_-12-186-035-_-Product- With this adapter, you plug your headset and mic into it and then it plugs into the USB port on your MacBook. Then you can just unplug it from the USB port when you are done.
