Toshiba Regza 32"

Hi I have a Regza 32", its new, it was working fine when suddenly the screen became black but the TV was on and you can hear everything. So I checked everything, what can I do, as I said, you can only hear but the screen remains black all the time.

Thanks

Claudia

About a month ago, I bought the Regza 37 inch HD LCD TV. I really like it, however it has a perplexing and dangerous problem.
Occasionally, I go into the room where the tv is located and I see the backlight is on. I know I turned off the TV before leaving the room and this usually occurs hour after it has been off.
I have it hooked up to an HD box and the remote for the box is set up to control the tv and the box.
I am concerned this could be a potential fire hazard (leaving a tv on unattended) not to mention an unnecessary use of our limited oil resources.
We don't have any other Toshiba TVs in the house. The salesman at Best Buy suggested we cover the IR receiver on the TV to see if this stops the problem. If I do this, the HD box and TV get out of sync and then I need to use the TV remote (after removing the tape) to turn the tv back on.

Could you please guide me on what to do? I have until 5/6 to return it to Best Buy for a full refund.
I really like the TV but I am concerned it has a major issue.

Any ideas on what I can do?

The tv was working fine. The next day, I have audio that changes when I change the channel, but the screen is completely black. Not even channel numbers appear. The cable company has refreshed the box, but that did nothing.

I have exactly the same problem, the screen just went off and the set[Regza 37XV503DB] is only 4months old.We have sound and can change channels but no picture.I suspect that this may be a problem with all LCD TV`s from what I have read, wish I had taken out an extended warranty.

I have this problem with my 32 inch Toshiba Regza 1080p TV. It was working fine one night, then the next morning I turned it on, the screen came on for 2 seconds, went to black, came back on for a second, then goes to black. If I turn the tv off then on again it does the same thing. I can still get sound. Bought it 6 months ago.

my 32" Regza has been doing this for a few months too. its a REAL pain in the ****. ive had the TV for a year now, but im considering buying a new one and returning this one.

My 32" Toshiba does the same thing. It will eventually be ok, but still does it from time to time. I have an extended warranty. I had the people come out to look at it. They kept it for 3 days and "apparently" couldn't get it to do it.

My TV does the same thing however it only does it when I use the remote to turn the TV on. If I use the power button on the TV it comes on and stays on.

same problem as everyone else. it takes me shutting the system off and
cutting back on several times before it functions properly. this was a
gift too, so no warranty. i may have to get a bulb myself and replace.
    will that work?

I would return it, sounds like the bulb died.

Toshiba regza replacement screen

Screen replacements are usually as much as a new TV. Since it's Black Friday, you might be better off shopping for a new TV.

Sound on one channel from over the air antenna has suddenly become garbled. All others are fine.

If only one channel is affected it is not a problem usually with the set--it does not know what channel you are on---look in audio menu and make sure if set has SAP it is not on.

Hi,Iwas watching TV and the screen went black. No lights on,I unplugged and plugged again but anything happened. My TV is a Toshiba Regza model 42RV530U. Can you help me? Thanks

If there was a popping noise of any kind when the tv screen went black there's a high possibility that one of the fuses in the tv popped and there is no power to the tv. It could also just be the outlet itself and try plugging the tv to different working outlets.

42 inch flat screen shows black screen with sound only no picture

That sounds like the backlight system or its powersupply has failed. If you can see an ghost like image when close and at an angle near the dge (depends on the light) then this confirms the backlight being the problem.

Repair cost should be about $100. You should be able to get this fixed under warrenty if you have any. If not get repair estimates before doing anything. It should be worth fixing but it never hurts to know if it is getting close to what a new replacment tv is worth.

When i turn my toshiba regza on I cannot access DTV all I get is a black screen. when i press the menu setup button this comes on for about a second then goes off again to a black screen. I can still use...

Try either the "content / menu" button between the volume and programme buttons. Failing that, when the tv has been powered up from the wall socket wait untill you hear a small click from the t.v (usually about 5 or so seconds after it has been switched on) before switching it on from the remote control, have no idea why this works but the dtv has worked for me ever since I powered the tv up like that

Toshiba Regza 32 inch.THE SCREEN LIGHTS UP OK EVERYTHING WORKS FINE YOU CAN HEAR WHAT'S PLAYING ON TV BUT THERE IS NO PICTURE

Have you ensured the scart lead is in properly and also have you checked another scart lead as the one you are currently using may be broken.
Hope this helps, sorry the reply's a bit late. xxxx
