Can i turn the flash off on my camra and if yes how. I bought the cara off a friend and she the booklet that came with it dont know any thing about this canon 600

To turn the flash off, press the right side of the ring shaped controller on the back of the camera where you see a lightning bolt icon. Each time you press it, you will see an icon pop up for a different option -- Auto (bolt with A), Auto with red eye reduction (icon of an eye), red eye reduction with flash on (eye and lightning bolt), On (just the lightning bolt), and Off (bolt with a "no" circle around it).
