check the "network settings" and make sure your set to auto or something similar. you dont say who your provider is but is sounds like your not on your "home' network, that is your service providers network.
Just get a s/w upgrade for the phone. It will fix your problem. Go to a customer care and tell them to get ur s/w upgraded. And since its only 4 months old, its still under warranty, and hence free of charge.

Check if you have them in the phone book just ones. Somtetimes happends, that you have saved number on the SIM card and in the phone memory. If you have saved tel no more than ones, mobile can't decide witch name to show, so will not show ANY name, just a number.
