Indefinitely until it is discontinued manually. Or the program no longer comes on at that time. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

How do I set a program to record weekly, can do it 24 hours ahead up to one week.

On the timer record screen, move the cursor left to the 'date' field, and scroll down until the date disappears, and it only shows a day of the week. If it shows 'Mon', your programme will record every Monday.

We just dvrs hooked up a few weeks ago.when I am recording somthing down and my daughter goes upstairs to watch her tv and tries to change her channel to watch somthing a message comes up on the tv that...

Hi, poog_23350, I caught your post! How a Duo DVR receiver works is that the TV you have it set to record on will not allow you to change the channel while the recording is in progress. The other TV, that isn't recording anything, can be used freely to flip through channels.

In this case, it's TV2, the one upstairs in your daughter's room, that's currently set to record on while the downstairs TV is free to use. This can be adjusted by pulling up the Main Menu with the Menu button on the remote, selecting option 8, then option 5, and changing the TV1/TV2 setting there on the Record Plus screen.

If you'd like a receiver capable of allowing channel changing while recording a program, our VIP 612 receiver is a Solo receiver that acts like a Duo. What this means is that it has one TV output and two tuners. Along with being able to change channels while a recording is in progress with this type of receiver, you can also record two programs on two different channels simultaneously.

Hope that helps!

My dish network receiver vip 612 push to open door won't stay closed?

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. I am sorry you are having a problem with the door on your 612 receiver box. The only to resolve this is to exchange out the receiver box for a cosmetic issue. They will send a new receiver and you can return that one. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I want to connect dvd recorder to dish network solo dvr vip 612 that is split for two tvs.

Hey! This is Becki Barned, with Dish Network customer service!!! You may have already gotten this taken care of, but either way, here are some steps if you still need some help! How I imagine you have this set up, is that you have RCA cables going from the receiver to the main tv. In this case, you will want to take the RCA cables from the receiver to the DVD recorder to a port that says IN. Then you will want to have either coax or RCA going from the DVD from a port that says OUT to the tv. If you use coax, the tv needs to be on channel 3/4, and the DVD on an input. If you use RCAs, the tv will also need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. Good luck! Blog back if any troubles!! :) Happy troubleshooting!!!!

My Vip 612, when recording more than one channel and viewing either of these channels the screen pops up loss of signal. It doesen't return untill I unplug the unit for a few seconds. Upon repowering the...

I would call for a technician to come out as it appears the receiver may have been incorrectly set up or is malfunctioning. I suspect that you have a Dish Pro LNB and are using one line into the 612 which uses DPP technology. The short of it is the two are only compatible if two lines are ran to the receiver and the seperator is eliminated. Without being there to test the system end to end it is all speculation. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Dish VIP 612 breaks up when playing back recorded shows.

Edy, I am not going to say that this is the definite issue but Dish only has receivers that are 1080i compatible at the time which will give you some blurring and possible pixellating. 1080p will resolve these issues in the future. Therefore if you still need help let me know.

if you haven't done so yet, set the clock

once clock is set

timer recording
menu
use up and down arrows to scroll to timer recording, and press the right arrow to select
set the program number (1-8)
set frequency (once, daily, weekly)
set the date to record
set start time (i usually go 5 mins prior)
set end time (i usually go 5 mins after)
set channel number
set tape speed
exit by pressing clear/c reset
press t-set to activate the timer

the timer rec light should come on, the timer recording will not be active unless you press the t-set button
