Hi Take a look here.Might be of help.

Hi seems you need a router
A modem cannot give out different IP addresses to 2 computer, it will work just with one at the time
A Modem/router instead is a machine capable to connect to the internet on one side and to 'distribute network' to many machine, giving them different ip addresses
the 2 possible solutions are :
1 buy a modem router to replace your modem
2 connecting your modem to a router.
A network built using a switch or an hub will not be able to share the modem. It will always work on no more than one computer
Then you need a router. It should cost between $60 and $150 in US. Here in uk ranges from pounds 40 to 80 pounds.
If you decide to buy the router ask your reseller a proper router working with your Internet Service provider (eg.AOL). Particularly router for cable Adsl connection are different from router for regular phone dsl connections.
Hope this had been helpful
bye
I was reading that Siemens Speedstream 4100 is also a router, even if it has only one ethernet port. In this case you need to connect it to the hub with a crossover cable, which is different from regular ethernet cables, as contact wires internally are inverted. Then the hub must be connected using 2 regular ethernet cables. If you use a hub or swich and the right cables (do not forget crossover cable from router to hub), it should work
If the network is well built and still does not work, then you will have to trubleshoot the problem from computers.I think with your router you can also build a small network using both usb and ethernet rj45 cable at the same time, but I am not 100% sure about this. doublecheck in the user manual to ensure
First remove and reinstall drivers for ethernet cards on both computer. If it still does not work you may need to install a new ethernet card in one of the computers.
