Lenovo Y410 Integrated webcam not working

It was working fine , but not any more. I get a message No camera or Camera activated. Please help.

    Its an internal webcam not attached external to laptop. Comes Factory fitted. Windows Vista O/S.

    I have Lenovo y410, and Win Xp. Its integrated webcam is not working. I think most of the people are getting the same kind of problwm. I also even tried fn+ESC key, intalled vista driver also. But its not working. Can anyone suggest solution to this problem

    the camera is IN the computer but it's not working, it says it's not there...but that's sort of impossible if the camera is attached to the computer

    I use a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop loaded with Vista SP1 and have the same problem with integrated webcam. It doesnt show up in device manager, none of the programs recognize it. I tried installing the driver from HP many times, that dint help either.



    There is no Fn+Esc combo for toggling cam on/off in HP. I would be greatful if somebody could help.

If the Y410 is like my Y510 then it is possibly one of two things.

1. If the computer goes into "sleep" mode, the camera may not come back online when it wakes up. A restart will obviously fix this.

2. Does your keyboard have a Fn key assigned to the ESC key that will toggle the camera ON/OFF? If so, give that a try.

Hi thanks man....it worked.....i tried to install drivers and when i launch the camera application it said camera not initialised....
now after trying Fn+ESC key camera is invoked and it is working...

You say it's an ' integrated ' webcam. What is it integrated into and what O/S please?

Hi guys... i got it fixed.. actually i have been browsing few other forums and the problem is with firewall settings.. yahoo cannot support any firewalls.. so i had to disable windows firewall, disable norton antivirus for yahoo msgr and then had to disable my internet connection service provider firewall.. then it worked fine. I know this is no safety to my computer, but i disable this only when i want to use my webcam, everyother time i keep my firewall safety settings high.

hi! just a tip! hope this would help! try pressin the Fn+esc. if still doesnt work try to uninstall and re install the driver for the webcam. you can actually download it on consumersupport.lenovo.com

Here is the driver for XP for that Lenovo Y410 of yours, LN1CAM29WW3.exe , the camera name on it Lenovo Easy Camera
Download and install it and you will be fine!

I have Lenovo y410, & i've loaded win xp. all the devices work fine but my webcam isnt working. lenovo site says 4 xp special driver isnt needed, but xp cant find driver 4 my webcam..installed vista...
hi! ive tried to check if there is an available camera driver for y410 for xp but unfortunately there's none, there is for vista. usually for lenovo you have to press Fn+esc for camera. hope this helps! goodluck!

Web cam not working..
sounds like maybe another program, something that starts automatically is trying to use the camera, or the drivers have become corrupted.

Try checking all start up programs to make sure nothing is starting and automatically grabbing the camera. Generally only one program can use the camera at a time, so this might be the case.

If you can't find anything, try reinstalling the camera but removing the drivers and reinstalling them.

Lenovo y410 web cam drivers for xp
1. Try the Updated Windows XP Professional SP2 (verison 5.1.2600) to the most latest and greatest update
2. Trt to check if the camera is working .. If not,
3. Download the integrated camera creative drive from dell .. website . here's the link

4. Install the above driver, restart  your computer
5. After restart press Fn+Esc key .. to enable the camera. (You should see a small pic icon on the right side bottom of the screen)
6. The hardware wizard will detect a new USB Webcam

I was using vista before but now i had installed Xp Opreating system. now i cant start my web cam in xp can anyone please help me out in this. My laptop is Lenovo Y410

Download this driver

and install it.

That should correct the orientation.
