Screen frozen My tv's screen is frozen on the "Philips" sign that comes on when you first turn on the tv. I have turned the TV off numerous times and it just sticks on the Philips sign. Please help me before the Superbowl!

you should check its its inverter board. it may need replacement though.

The standby power supply resistors on the inverter board have changed values. You will replace resistors R1217, (820K 1/4 watt), R1218,(820K 1/4 watt) and R1219 (390K 1/4 watt). Please use the values just mentioned. Or you may have the inverter board replaced. Take this note to a TV repair Tech.Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

It is possible that the TV was hit by a small power surge, and the processor has some garbage in it, and you need to leave it unplug for 40 MIN, and that will reset back to normal. Make sure for at lease 40NIM,

There is a smt located at 7404 [C-6 Bottom] A common problem, does the tv make a sound like it wants to come on? Location 3239 should be small resistor, 3414 another resistor and a driver transformer at 5402 if it looks burned. See MCM electronics website and see if there is a kit to repair this. Or ask for part #s as per location of problem area mentioned. What you will be doing is changing the timing so all the components will come on at the same time. If this is done correctly you will notice the top of tv screen will flash red, green and blue lines. This will be the new norm each time you turn it on. But it will be OK. Sounds like this could be a dry soldering joint in the TV power circuit. This can easily be repaired with a small soldering iron and soldering wire.
