No picture on Samsung 61'' HDMI Input

Samsung HL-R6167W shows message when switched to the HDMI mode, ''Your display is not authorized to use HDMI...''

HDMI was previously working a couple of days ago. All other inputs work fine and the picture is fine when devices are connected to the other inputs. When using HDMI, picture will come up for a moment then the message will appear and after about 10 seconds the message and picture disappears.

SOURCE: HDMI connection problem

On your TV set remote are you selecting the proper input; for example when you have different devices connected to the back of your tv set, dvd player, vcr, cable box etc; you have to tell the tv which device you want to use by selecting the right one on your tv remove input selection. Hope this was any help.

SOURCE: jvc hdmi????

Changing the output to digital only affectts the audio output stream such as Dolby Digital or DTS audio. Try turning on the DVD player first then the television and see if then it sees the DVD player. Otherwise using the component outputs most will never see the difference n picture quality. Good luck.

Most likely the digital board will have to be replaced. Not a cheap part, so you might concider using the component inputs for now if too expensive.

SOURCE: PC videocard-HDMI input not working any more.

There is acompany that makes such a converter BUT it is getting hard to get because HDCP (hd copy protection) can be bypassed with it. I will get the company name for you but search ebay for a hdmi to component converter. It works pretty well. You may need to get the HDMI to DVI converter cable for $8 as well.

SOURCE: 51F510 Input settings for HDMI

Okey,

Connect the hdmi, into the HDMI 1. that is automatically input one. Connect the 2nd device on Input 2, thats next to input 1 and hdmi, leave the input 1 empty, as the hdmi is connected to that.

3rd device into input 3
4th device into input 4.

Problem with HL-R6167W green vertical lines

You need to do an aggressive reset on the TV. This solved problem completely for me. You must unplug the TV when it is on. Repeat this several times until the TV is jolted back into the factory default settings. The issue is actually with the programming I believe. The clue was that the display worked 100% perfect in HDMI mode, and the problem only existed in the cable setting, no matter if wires were attached or not.

Again, do an aggressive reset to the TV by unplugging it several times while it is on. It may not register the reset at first because after all, the actual problem is a programming issue and it's having trouble recognizing commands in the first place.

Good luck!!

Do I have a bad dmd board?

Hi Dave I am Vortash if you replaced the Colour wheel and the problem went but then has returned I think it may just be a bad connection on the board check the ribbons from the lcds are secure and the plug slide that holds them in is all the way closed , also check the rest of the circuit for dry joints , I dont think this is as bad as you fear .. Samsung HL 61A750A1F

The Samsung Television has 3 HDMI inputs, You would connect an HDMI cable from the Cable box to your television and go into a menu on the television to select the appropriate HDMI input.

New cable boxes should have the HDMI connection.

Most Flat screen televisions I've seen have an input button on the television itself. Pushing it should allow you to switch between inputs.
