My print server is working with a Epson DX4400. It is all setup correctly (according to Netgear) but when I print wirelessly, it only prints half the test page and then the printer stops with an error stated in the printer properties. Netgear have not helped, can anyone!!?????

U need to manually add the Printer ports ..

Install the printer driver to the computer first and make sure that we are able to print directly. Follow the steps below after putting the printer and computer back to your network.

  1. Click on Start, then Control Panel, then Printers and Faxes. Right click on the Printer and select Properties.
  2. On the printer properties window, select Ports tab and click on Add Port.
  3. Select Standard TCP/IP Port and click on New Port
  4. This will bring the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard, click Next
  5. In the field for Printer Name or IP Address, type the IP address of the print server and click Next
  6. Select Custom and click Settings button
  7. Under Protocol field, select LPR. For Queue Name, type P1 depending on what print server port is the printer connected to.
  8. Click Ok, then Next, and Finish.
And this will resolve the issue

Installation CD for the print server

If you are having trouble going through the setup process on the installation cd do the following:

  1. Disable any encryption settings on your wireless router.
  2. Disable MAC filtering.
If these features are enabled during the installation setup process, the wireless features will not work unless you go into the admin settings of the print server by typing the IP address into internet explorer. Type in the correct encryption settings.

Linksys has a provision in the setup software to key in the correct encryption however the software doesn't put the information in properly. This will cause the wireless not to work and allow the print server to work only when it is wired to the network.

Encryption settings have to be entered through the administration settings of the router by typing in the IP address of the print server using internet explorer.

How do i connect my epsonR300inkjet printer wirelessly

Network printing with a non-networked printer
This model printer has only an USB printer connection andnormally connected to a computer or laptop.
To connect this printer wirelessly to all laptops on your wireless networkthere are a couple of methods.
Connect the printer to a desktop computer and setup the printer as a sharedprinter. Next connect the desktop computer to your wireless router with a LANcable and then configure the wireless laptops to connect to the shared printeron the desktop computer. NOTE - This desktop computer and printer must be on atall times for the wireless laptops to print to the printer.
OTHER METHOD
Connect the printer to an USB print server and connect the print server to thewireless router with a LAN cable. The printer drivers needs to be installed onall the wireless laptops and then the printer port needs to be deleted from theUSB port and a new IP address printer port installed. This IP address will bethe IP address of the print server.

Hello, How do I connect my Epson stylus PHOTO px700 to my laptop?

NETGEAR’s 54 Mbps Wireless Print Server with 4-port Switch allows you to connect one or two printers to your existing wireless network, without using unsightly Ethernet cables. Simply place your printers anywhere in your home or office that works best for you, plug them into the print server’s USB ports, and the Smart Wizard set-up function automatically guides you through configuration. Then you can send your business documents to a high-end color printer, and your kids’ homework to a black-and-white printer. The print server also acts as a wireless Ethernet bridge, connecting a cluster of up to four PCs and laptops without requiring dedicated wireless adapters. I t employs powerful WEP Encryption and WPA-PSK to keep your wireless network secure, and interoperates with all standard b and g wireless devices. All this in a sleek, space-saving stand-up case.

Setup with a netgear print server

Be sure you have it setup correctly and the IP address is correct. Also you may want to check with Netgear on whether or not that model is compatible with Bi-Directional printers.

Can't connect WGPS606 wireless printer server to cable router

suggest plugging print server directly into p.c via blue ethernet cable during setup. Then run setup program and then pick an ip address that works with your router (in same network ip range of router) that does not clash . I would use print server as a switch if it is close to the router by ethernet cable between router and wireless print server. Then both should work
Wireless to server and other wired computers as well .

Installation assistant cannot detect print server

Results of attempting to connect the Netgear Wireless Print Server WGPS606 and the Canon MF6550 multifunction laser printer. I was on the phone for several hours last evening (March 9, until about midnight EDT) with a very competent support agent from Netgear (actually in the Philippines). The Netgear setup Wizard software would not connect the Print Server to my Verizon FiOS wireless G router automatically, so the Netgear support agent walked me through it manually. The Print Server connected that way, for sure. Then we manually attempted to connect the Print Server to my Canon MF6550 and subsequently, my HP 932C Deskjet. Neither printer is on the WGPS606 compatible list, nor is either on the known incompatible list. Now we know - both printers are INCOMPATIBLE with the Netgear WGPS606. I bought both the Netgear Print Server and the Canon MF6550 at Staples on Sat., March 8, 2008, based upon the assurance from Staples staff that it would all work. The question now is whether ANY brand of wireless Print Server will work with the Canon MF6550, or do I have to return this printer and get either a Canon with built in networking (ethernet or wireless) or switch to the Brother equivalent (MFC 8870DW). If I get a (multi-function) printer with built-in Ethernet networking, does the Ethernet capability bypass the USB incompatibility problem, or will the problem remain?

Epson CX5800F printer Netgear PS121 Print Server difficulties

Here is a workaround:
http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Comp/comp.periphs.printers/2007-08/msg00456.html

Another thing to try if it STILL doesn't work is
Printer&Faxes>>Properties>>Advanced>>"Print Directly to Printer"

Just remember to restart after you try both of these. The Status Monitor in it's current for (at least for me) simply sucks.
