Blinking cursor changes shape, little flag

What OS are you running?
If you are worried about a key logger then run a virus/malware/root kit scan. If you want to get even more in detail run a chkdisk from the
C:\ prompt and look for unindexed files. Better yet get a program like Malwarebytes (shareware) or Spybot Search and Destroy (Free) online and run those to root out potential pesky bugs. Stay off free download sites and virus check everything you download before installing. That is why they call them Trojans as they are piggybacked on legit programs or movies you download online.

Removing crawler as i can,t click onto details in my mail

If you have Crawler's software on the machine, it's quite likely you have other undesirable software as well.

You'll want to uninstall this software like you would any other program. From the Control Panel under programs and features or uninstall a program.

Crawler.com has become my homepage and i hate it. I've tried to set google back as my homepage, but it stays as crawler. How do i fix this?

You probably have the crawler virus. Go to www.malwarebytes.org and download the free version of MalwareBytes. Install it and update it. After it is updated, run a scan. Updating it is pretty straight forward. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have an incessant popup from Microsoft Windows that says "CToolbar.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a...

Hi lfakenstine,

According to a web search, that "CToolbar.exe" file is part of "Crawler Toolbar" which comes with the Web Security Guard software program. Here is an explanation of what it is from the web site below:

"
Web Security Guard comes with Crawler Toolbar that offers a unique combination of search results from Google, Yahoo! and MSN with a single click. Crawler Toolbar is 100% safe, contains no malicious software and does not facilitate pop-up ads.

Additionally, Crawler Toolbar offers many functions such as spyware & adware protection, popup blocker, download manager, Radio & MP3 player, RSS reader, email notifier and much more.

Crawler Toolbar helps to ensure that Web Security Guard is always up to date. Updates are automatically downloaded and installed shortly after their release."

This is basically a toolbar found in your web browser. If you never use it and don't care to, you should be able to find it in Windows "Add/Remove Programs" located in the "Control Panel" and uninstall it from there.

If you do want to continue to use it, I suggest doing a reinstall of the program because it may have become corrupted. You can do this by uninstalling it from the steps I just mentioned in the paragraph above. To install it again, go to the site below which has more information about the program and the download linik.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Security-Related/Web-Security-Guard.shtml

One final note, towards the bottom of the site, it says this:

"Reasons why this program is marked as ad-supported:

Contains Crawler Toolbar. You have the option to make Crawler.com your default search engine or your homepage."

If you scan your PC for spyware and adware, this toolbar may be triggered as malicious.

Good luck and let me know how everything turns out. If you have anymore questions, feel free to post your questions on here again.

Don't know how to program it

First you must instal the Twain driver for your scanner. You didn't mention what kind of scanner, ut the best thing to do is go to the scanner's web site and download the latest dirve for it for your operating system (OS) Once that is downloaded, you install it to your computer. Next you need a graphic/photo program. With the program you can set up the scanner to scan right into the program, do any editing ans then save the file. Simple as falling off a log once you learn how to fall without hurting yourself (joke). Need more help contact us at FixYa. best of luck.

I have an acer netbook and occasionally i get a weird symbol when i move my cursor. it's almost like a bullseye. it pauses my cursor until it goes away and then in can continue. what is this?

This is a custom cursor that has been setup by either:

A program on your computer
A custom cursor program like free cursors or something.

Check you computer for programs like "smiley cursors" or check the windows control panel and open Mouse settings to see if you have any custom pointers.

It is possible that.. instead of an hourglass.. somebody, or a program has set a custom pointer for your mouse.

The pointer changes to an hourglass in any windows setup by default when it wants you to wait for something that is happening in the background to finish processing.

Check for spyware and viruses as well.. customer cursor websites are great at getting people to install them and you get infected sometimes.
