There is a small adjustment screw on the gas valve, turn it clockwise to increase pilot,if that does not work the vent cap on the gas regulator on the back of the unit could be stopped up,remove that cap ,clean out or replace unit can operate without it just fine.If you increase the pilot and it still wont stay lit replace the thermocouple

Pilot wont lit

The first thing to do is make sure all the air has been purged from the gas line.

Pilot light does not stay on

Hi there.
Try cleaning the thermopile, it must be free of soot or any form of dirt. Ensure that the gas pressure is sufficient, all wiring connections are tight and the hi limit is good.
If all of these are okay and the pilot still wont stay lit, try replacing the thermopile.

My pilot light will not stay lit. I have replaced the thermocouple and still will not stay lit. Can the valve be bad?

Make sure the thermocouple is deeper into the flame of the pilot light. It needs to reach a high enough temperature to produce a high enough voltage to keep the pilot light lit all the time. I do not think that the main gas valve is bad at all.

Pilot light will light but won't stay lit How do you clean the orifice?

I don't think it is the ortice it is most likley the thermal coupling change it and this will keep your pilot light will stay lit

On starting, pilot flame will not stay lit to switch on.

sounds like you need to replace the thermopile, which would make this a milli-volt system

Pilot is off.

Most fryers have pilot lighting instructions on the inside of the door. If yours doesn't then find the gas valve, turn the knob to the pilot position, push in on the knob and light the pilot. Keep the knob pushed in after you lite the pilot for at least another 30 seconds. The pilot should stay lit.

Imperial fryer IFS-40

I had a very simular problem. My fryer would do exactly as you described, but sometimes the pilot light would stay on until the burners tried to re-ignite and then it would go out.
I finally had to call the gas company. They took the pilot light apart and cleaned it. The fryer works perfect now.
Hope this helps!

Pilot light won't stay lit

Wrong voltage thermocouple? must have 400mv, residential uses 25-40mv.

Pilot wont light.

Firstly make sure the gas knob is exactly in the pilot mode some are finiky and won't light unless in exactly the right postion. Make sure once lit when pushing down on the pilot knob that you hold it down long enough for the thermocouple to sense the pilot. Barring both of those the most likley culprit is the thermocouple itself is faulty and can easily be removed usally with a couple of screws and a small adjustable wrench.
