I had this issue because I was playing with the programming on the phone. When i restarted, it froze up at the Metro PCS screen and could not do anything but unplug the battery. Here is how I fixed this problem. Step1. Unplug battery for 30 seconds and keep it removed.
Step2. Plug in charger and insert into the phone.
Step3. You will see the Samsung screen loading up, quickly insert battery before phone finishes booting.
Step4. You will see the "Charging" screen. Press Power button ONCE
Step5.Quickly press the Enter button OR KEEP PRESSING IT until you get into your phone - to enter the menu. Navigate to Settings/Phone Settings/Security. 4 digit code is last 4 digits of phone number.
Step6. Navigate down to Reset Phone and choose YES.
