When this problem occur you need to set the memory card not protected. Remove the memory card from camera and you can see a small button in the memory card, so you need to slide that to set the memory card not protected.

SOURCE: memory card is write protected

Take your memory card out of the camera and switch the position of the little "lock" tab. That should fix it and you can start saving images.

Have canon rebel xs , getting card write protected error

If this is a Canon Rebel XS there is no memory card in a 35mm film camera If this is a Rebel XSi then generally this error is caused by the memory card lock switch here is a diagram to show the correct orientation of this switch

Also after you have unlocked the card you should format the memory card in the camera it is going to be used in. Failing to do so may produce other errors and possibly corrupt pictures and files Formatting clean the memory card to produce optimum performance between the camera and card

I use olympus fe-5050 and i am using 4GB sdhc memory card. when i on the camera.the screen show either to 'power off' or 'format'. i could not format the card as it will show card error.

make sure the little switch on the side of the memory card is not in the wrong position. I believe this write protects it and cannot be erased or formatted accidently or even on purpose.

My Olympus T-100 camera is showing writing protect card full and wont let me erase

can mean that the memory card is locked. take out the memory card and check for a lock slide at the sides of the card that you can adjust to a lock and unlock position, then test the card again.

Formatting time it shows write protected error

SD cards nad microSD adaptors have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
