M Haier refrigerator, model HSE12WNAWW, is getting way too cold. I have the thermostat set at it's lowest setting but the bottom refriderator section continues to freeze everything in it. The freezer, on top, works just fine. It's freezes as it should.

Seems like you set it at the lowest as you mentioned, try the recommended setting. The lowest is the coldest, that will freeze up your food items.

Haier minifridge freezing everything

My mini-fridge did a similar thing, until I realized that managed to put on the wrong temperature knob. It was technically backwards. They may have done this to you. I mean, it is a longshot, but try putting it on the highest setting to see if that helps. If it does not, you're most likely dealing with a faulty knob that's not actually changing the settings on the thermostat.

I have a haier model # htq18jabww-01 and the freezer seems to b working fine but the fridge does not seem to be cold at all...any soultions??

The "Cold-to-Coldest" adjuster in the freezer steals chilled air from the refrigerator to add more to the freezer. It's a mechanical damper. Set it fully CCW to cold (warmest position). I also put duck tape over half the chilled air outlets in the freezer to increase the chilled air pressure feeding the refrigerator section. Set the thermostat in the refrigerator to 8 or 9 and the freezer works fine and everything in the refrigerator is 38F.

Refrigerator getting to cold , thermostats at mid-range. Technician said thermostats faulty , i don't share that view .Before this refrigerator condenser was changed due to a leak & corrosion on it,...

The thermostat is the only thing that turns the compressor on and off with temperature.
Turn the thermostat to its lowest setting and see if the compressor turns off.
If not,the thermostat is bad.

Bad defrost timer/ thermostat???

It definitely sounds like you have a bad defrost timer, that is the reason the coils are icing up on you. The next issue, which may or may not be related is the freezing of items in the refrigerator. Usually the cold air is transferred, through a vent with a damper, from the freezer and into the refrigerated section. The "thermostat" for this section is actually usually just a lever to adjust the position of the damper. That being said, usually when you have a problem such as you are having, it is either a stuck or broken damper (or damper component). Hope this helps

My Haier compact frig runs all time, at #1 setting: freezes all

no 1 setting is close to zero degrees C the setting should be around 4 for normal every day use
call a technician to fix /replace the thermostat
if you continue to use a metal object ( screw driver , knife, fort etc ) when defrosting , you problems with the fridge will soon be over as you will puncture the evaporator section and that is not repairable so you will require a new unit

Freezing in frig.

Check the air dampers at the bottom of the fresh food section. They may have been moved to a open position. If so close them up some.
Otherwise the cold control thermostat may need to be replaced.

Repair

Defrost system problem will be indicated by frost (snow) on back wall or cooling coil is located in the freezer compartment. Check freezer control setting. If it is set to cold for the freezer it reduces cold air to the refrigerator section.
