Hi,

This is a known issue with the New version Yahoo Mail. As a workaround to this problem, you can switch to the older version of Yahoo Mail (Yahoo Mail Classic)

To switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic (Old Yahoo), on your Yahoo Mail page click the Options link in the upper right corner between Help and Mobile, then click the Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic link.

A dialog box might appear asking for feedback. If it does, click Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic.

For more details, click on this link: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/settings/settings-22.html

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

Can't get most of my attachments to appear

With the Web-based Yahoo! Mail service, you can attach to your email message a saved Web page or another document in HyperText Markup Language format.
When you attach an HTML file in this way, Yahoo! Mail won't display the HTML content of the attached file in the email message body.
To view the attachment, you must click the attachment tab above the email message.Yahoo! Mail and HTML
Yahoo! Mail is a Web-based service and it's fully compatible with the coding languages used to design and display Web content, including HTML and XML, Extensible Markup Language.
This means emails sent or received in Rich text or HTML format include clickable hyperlinks, graphics and other Web design elements.
However, Yahoo! handles emails with HTML attachments in a different way to email messages formatted with HTML.

About Yahoo! Mail Attachments
Like most email programs and online services, Yahoo! Mail offers an attachment feature for adding images, video clips, audio files and HTML document to email messages.
Some email programs display the content of the attached file in the email message body, but Yahoo! Mail doesn't provide this feature for any file attachment, whether it's an image, video clip or HTML document.

Viewing Yahoo! Mail Attachments When you attach an HTML document or another file to your Yahoo! Mail message, an "Attachments" button labeled with a "Paperclip" icon appears below the email address fields and above the email message body.
Clicking the "Attachments" button opens a pane containing a list of all files attached to the email. The email sender or recipient can open each attachment to view the files by clicking the file name.

Considerations

When sending a Yahoo! Mail with an attachment, always explain the content of the attachment in the main body of the email message.
A brief explanation will encourage the recipient to click and open the attachment to view the HTML document.
Bear in mind that many email services automatically block HTML attachments because of the security risk of opening HTML files, which can contain viruses, phishing scams or open Web pages with inappropriate content.
If you want to share a favorite Web page with a friend or contact, include a hyperlink to the Web page rather than a saved copy as an HTML attachment.

Cannot receive forwarded pictures from emails....

I'm not entirely sure but it's highly likely that when a person forwards an e-mail, the attachments (so the pictures) are not included in the forwarded mail.
Ask the person to send you the pictures manually in a seperate mail.

Remove virus from account

1. Open Yahoo Mail. Use your Yahoo! user ID and password to sign in to Yahoo Mail. Open the email message suspected of containing a virus.
2. Find attachments. The attached files are in the header section above the body of the email. The names of the attachments will appear as blue, active hyperlinks, taking on the actual saved file name given by the sender.
3.Initiate automatic virus scanning and cleaning. Look for another link labeled "Scan and Download Attachment" and click it. If this link does not show, you may have to click directly on the attachment's file name. Look for the alert "Scanning attachment for viruses." The alert may appear for less than a second, dependent upon the size of the file; if you miss the brief message it is not important.
4. Wait and read results. After the virus scan completes, if no virus is detected, you will be given the go-ahead to download the attachment. If a virus is detected, Yahoo Mail will try to automatically clean the attachment, and then present the option to download.
Hopefully, it may help to protect your Email account.

Default mail client

It sounds like you are trying to click on a hyperlink to email someone, like at a website. These hyperlinks are programmed to open an email client like Outlook, or Outlook Express and open a new mail message with the email address line populated.

If you are using a WEB based email like Yahoo, Hotmail and the like, then the hyperlink will not work, and you get the error you describe. Generally it isn't worth the time and effort to setup an email client if that is the only reason you are doing it.

SO, generally, I just open my email, then type the email address of the hyperlink ([email protected] for example)

I can't find where to attach information on my emails

Place it in your signature line. You can select Tools, Options, Mail Format, Signatures, Create (if you don't already have asignature created) or Edit (if you already crated one), then either add a hyperlink in the signature or choose vCard options and attach a card or create a new one. Using this method you can create an attachment that becomes part of the recipient's contact cards, and they have all of your contact info at the click of a button.

If you want to attach manually when you write the e-mail: select Insert, File, then browse to the file you wish to attach. I like this method because it doesn't spam people that already have my attachment if I don't do the attachment. The only problem is keeping track of who has already been sent the attachment!
