Hi, 2 days ago while stitching on my Singer Brilliance 1680 with 80 stitches model, suddenly E7 appeared. I tried everything I cud think of the problem cud be, even opened n checked if the machine n the bobbin thread etc. but all was in tact. Then when I called the dealer, told me certain things to do, which I had already done, and later said to bring the machine to the shop. But since I was busy was not able to go. The best as I always do, was to check on the internet. I was happy I found that others too had similar problem. First one said, to check the foot-pedal n adjust the screws, for which mine has nothing of tht sort. then left it. But today, when I checked again, and found this solution above from Brother Solutions Center, I was glad that my problem cud be on the reverse button, as I remember while doing so, I felt something odd while putting pressure on the foot-pedal n then all of a sudden the error E7 appeared with a long beep.

Anyways, at once, i downloaded their acrobat file format for solutions and then I went n fidgeted with the reverse button n began to sew a bit and then it was normal. But must say, I prayed before I cud fix it :) and was so so happy when it was done ok :D

Thanks so much Brother Solutions. Saved my time of going to the dealers.

E7 means
The start/stop button, reverse/reinforcement stitch button
or the thread cutter button was pressed while no thread
cassette was installed

E3 means
The buttonhole or bar tack stitch was selected and the
start/stop button was pressed while the buttonhole lever
is raised.
(make sure buttonhole lever is in correct position)

If the start/stop button is pressed before the sewing machine is correctly set up or if an operation is performed
incorrectly, an error message appears in the stitch indicator. Follow the instructions that appear.
If you press (Stitch selection key) or do the operation correctly while the error message is displayed, the
message disappears.

When i turn on machine and start to press the foot pedal, there's an alarm nose and it flashes E3 363459? Any idea what it means and how to fix it?

Search the internet for:

Make + error code E3

Usually it will come up with what error codes mean for your brand machine. Also, check the Troubleshooting section of your manual.

I have E7 and machine won't work????

E7 sounds like an error code. First step is to look it up in your owner's manual.

How do I reset an E7 error message?

HAAA!!! Me, too!! I just got the same code. I actually took off all the stuff to clean it (glad I did too because after a whole week of sewing on it straight, it was hella filthy!), I still couldn't get it to work. The answer is in the Singer FAQ website (http://www.singerco.com/support/frequently-asked-questions). Your button hole lever has been bumped. It is just to the left of the the needle bar. I just pulled mine all the way down, then pushed it all the way back up. No more E7!!!! Color me happy for sure!
