If you left your watch in direct sunlight, there should be just 6-8 hours enough to recharge it. If there was no direct sunlight, it may take up to a week to revoke your watch. This corresponds only to watches powered by light. The energy cell in those watches is called capacitor, not battery. If you are not sure what type of cell your watch has, leave it for a few days more in bright lightened place and then see if it works. If it does not - replace the capacitor (or battery if your watch isn't powered by light). Rate me, plz.

Why isn't battery recharging in sunlight?

I own the a same CASIO PRG-240 watch.I think there is no problem.Charging every solar powered watch under direct sunlight has to be made in a well lighted and ventilated area, such as balcony and never behind a window glass.Charging from LOW to FULL is a long way (see instructions). Now showing FULL and when removed after a while, MEDIUM, is normal as the battery is not really fully charged. If you use an incandescent light, place the watch at least 50-60 cm distance from it.Usually there are no great results with the incandescent light.I never use this option.
Wear your watch for a couple of days (a week for example) under sunlight as much as possible and check. If it still shows MEDIUM after a time period, may be a battery replacement will solve the problem.

I have a tough solar powered g-shock watch model wva-510a with a 2762 module. It has been put away for 3 weeks in an area where no light could get to it. The display was blank. When I exposed it to...

Hello there.

As you can see in the picture, it takes some time to charge the watch up 100%. If you are charging the watch indoors, then it will take 126 hours. The best thing to do would be leave it in sunlight for up to 6hours and the charge should come back fine.

How do brighten the dial so I can see the time in the dark. The watch was in direct sunlight 3 days & I still cannot see thedial in the dark!

At one time luminescent dials were made with Radium Luminous paint with a half-life of 1600 years so the "glow" didn't go away soon. And getting enough of the material to cause it to glow sufficiently was dangerous to the wearer. Since then Tritium mixed with zinc sulfide was substituted. Please see: http://wornandwound.com/2013/08/23/seeing-in-the-dark-luminescence-in-watches/

Later, non-radioactive materials were used. Unfortunately, all these materials decay and are less efficient. If you have a small flashlight you can hold it to the face of the watch and it will then get brighter...for a while. But, soon it will fade again. Holding the watch under a light for a long time won't help. The reason is that the material can't hold a "charge" and the excited materials have lost much of their ability to luminesce.

How do I restart my Citizen calibre 9000, after it has been left in the dark for too long, thanks

Put your watch into direct sun light for a few days. This is what I did ... along with all the other things Citizen said to do. I eventually returned my watch to Citizen when everything failed to bring my watch back to life. You must try first ... then get a return authorization number from them if necessary. When I sent mine in for this warranty work, it was returned in a short time and running well.

When you are reaty, start the process here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/

I have a g shock riseman g-9200, what does the letters PS mean(just to left of hour in time keeping mode, also is there any indication that i am getting a atomic time keeping signal?.......Thanks.....syd

PS means the watch is in power save mode if there is an indicator under the PS on your watch. this means the watch will go into a sleep mode when it is left in the dark for extended periods. change this setting by holding the top left button until a city code starts flashing, then press the bottom left button until "PSON" is flashing , you can switch between "PSON" and "PSOF" in this way by pressing the bottom right button. i, and casio recommend leaving the watch in the powersave mode though to help extend battery life. I got all this info from my G Shock manual.

Need new battery. How do I do that?

Around the outer edge of the watch there will be an indention. Pry open with a small screwdriver. Your internal compartment should be right there.

Casio GW300 (2608) battery replacement

Hey all. The charge provided by the solar cells on the watch only really extend the life of the battery. The total run time of a battery depends on how the watch is used... backlight requirements etc. The battery will be depleted and need to be replaced.

Here is a site that has good instructions on how to change the battery in your G-Shock watch.

If you want to ensure you still have a the same water resistance rating, I do suggest that you take it to a watch guy to have it replaced for you. They clean switch contacts also and you keep water resistance rating. Good Luck and vote this as a "FixYa". Cheers

Casio GW-1200BA G-Shock

Try taping it to the inside of your window for a couple days and see if that makes it charge up enough to act right. You might also want to make sure that you don't have the "auto light" on. If the light turns on when you tilt the watch to a 45 degree angle then press the light button for 2 seconds to shut that off. If that doesn't work for you then you are probably going to have to have the battery changed.
