How to install warcraft? - Blizzard Entertainment WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne for Windows, Mac

If you want to play dota on Warcraft 3 you need to download the map,
then find the Warcraft 3 folder and open it, then open folder called "maps" and cut the DotA map in to that folder... And when you start Warcraft just find it and play it (be sure you have patch 1.24b).
I dont know are you thinking on DotA 2 or Warcraft 3 DotA...This is the answer for Warcraft 3 DotA.

well, maybe because the application you have has some faulty configs! this might happened because you installed war3 before installing the latest directX. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work either, try to search for driver updates related to your video card!

If only monitors turns off it means that game is in higher resolution than monitor can support.

However, warcraft is preety old game and such things shouldn't happen.

Possible sollutions:
1. Download lastest Video card drivers from producent website
2. Install lastest DirectX
3. If still problem occurs:
Click Start->Run...
enter "regedit" -> press enter
open following directories: HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Blizzard Entertainment -> Warcraft III -> Video

doubleclick on "resheight" -> check "decimal" and enter 640, apply with OK
then doubleclick on "reswidth" -> check "decimal" and enter 800, apply with OK

Run game and see if it helped.

Then copy it to Warcraft III/Maps foder.

I assume you were asking how to install game without patch.
Game installed from PC will have the version depending on when CD was burned.

OK i play WoW and what your experiencing is the patching of the game and yes there are alot of patches. Keep on patching till your version is 3.1.2.9901

i dont think so i think it will support all features.

Try these two solutions -

Try to move the World of Warcraft folder back to where it was originally installed and run the patch.

Or try this -
1. go to Macintosh HD => Users => Shared => Blizzard: delete the .plist file inside
2. launch the World of Warcraft game and let the patch go through again, download/patch

You have to repair your game.

1. Go to the Repair Tool in World of Warcraft folder > repair.exe

2. Right Click the World of Warcraft Shortcut > Properties

3. Click Find Target button in the bottom left of the Shortcut tab. This will display the World of Warcraft folder.

5. Double Click on Repair program and choose the Reset and Check files option.

6. This will create a backup of your WTF, WDB and Interface folders before resetting them and then begin scanning your installation.
